Bimal-Kumar
Bimal-Kumar are fictional characters created by Bengali novelist Hemendra Kumar Roy. These are popular figures of Bengali Children's literature. Roy wrote almost thirty Bimal-Kumar stories and novel. Some of them are science fiction. Characters They are two Bengali friends named Bimal and Kumar. Both are adventurous, daredevil and intelligent. The duos like to solve mysteries, roam all over the world, search hidden treasure and live a fearless life. They are bachelors. Their old, loyal servant ''Ramhari'' and pet dog ''Bagha'' accompany them. Ramhari acts as their guardian. Hemendra Kumar Roy
Hemendra Kumar Roy (2 September 1888 – 18 April 1963) was an Indian Bengali writer noted for his contribution to the early development of the genre of children's literature in the language. He was a noted contributor to the early development of Bengali detective fiction with his 'Jayanta-Manik' and adventurist 'Bimal-Kumar' stories, dealing with the exploits of Jayanta, his assistant Manik, and police inspector Sunderbabu. Roy also translated the '' Rubaiyat'' of Omar Khayyám into Bengali. Roy's 'Ajab Deshe Amala' is a well-known translation of Alice in Wonderland. Early life Son of Radhikaprasad Roy, Hemendrakumar was born in Kolkata in 1888, in an affluent family originally hailing from Pathuriaghata. ''Jawker Dhan'' (The Treasure of Ghost) is a Bengali action adventure film of 2017 directed by Sayantan Ghosal. This movie was based on the adventure story of Bimal-Kumar duos of Hemendra Kumar Roy in the same name. ''Sagardwipey Jawker Dhan'' is a 2019 Bengali action adventure film directed by Sayantan Ghosal and written by Sougata Basu with influence of the original story by Hemendra Kumar Roy.
