Billy Reid (31 March 1938 – 20 July 2021) was a Scottish professional footballer who played as a wing half for Wishaw, before signing for Motherwell on his 17th birthday where he was part of the legendary Ancell Babes team. He then moved to Airdrieonians, before joining the Broomfield club's coaching staff. He also worked for Airdrieonians as a scout. Billy Reid (footballer, Born 1963)
William Reid (born 18 July 1963) is a Scottish professional football coach and former player who is the assistant manager to Graham Potter at Chelsea of the Premier League. Reid played for Queen of the South, Clyde, Hamilton Academical and Stirling Albion during the 1980s and 1990s. After a spell as caretaker manager of Clyde in 2002, he was appointed manager in 2004. After one season as Clyde manager, Reid was appointed manager of Hamilton. The club won promotion to the Scottish Premier League in 2008, when Reid also won the PFA Scotland Manager of the Year award. Despite being relegated in 2011, Reid continued as Hamilton manager until April 2013. In November 2013, he moved to Swedish club Östersund as an assistant coach. William Thomas Reid Jr. (October 25, 1878 – September 28, 1976) was an American football player and coach of Harvard's football team for the 1901, 1905, and 1906 seasons. Though his goal was to produce winning teams, mounting injuries and intensifying criticism of the game fueled demands for its abolition and pressured Reid into a leadership role in the momentous 1906 rule changes which defused this threat. William Gordon Reid (19 September 1902 – 12 December 1974) was an English songwriter, bandleader, pianist and accordionist. He was the first British songwriter to reach the top of the US music chart, with The Ink Spots' 1946 recording of " The Gypsy", and was known for his close association with the singer Dorothy Squires, for whom he wrote that and many other songs. William Reid (1 January 1939 – 15 May 1971) was a member of the Belfast Brigade of the Provisional Irish Republican Army. Reid shot the first British Army soldier on duty killed in the Troubles and was later himself killed as he attempted another ambush of British Army personnel.
