Billy Power (hurler)
Billy Power (born 1999) is an Irish hurler who plays for Waterford Senior Championship club Clonea and at inter-county level with the Waterford senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a midfielder. Playing career Waterford Power first played for Waterford at minor level during the 2017 Munster Minor Championship, lining out in three successive defeats but ending the short-lived campaign as top scorer with 0–15. After one season in the minor grade, Power was drafted onto the Waterford under-20 team for the 2019 Munster Under-20 Championship. His sole season in the grade ended with a 3–23 to 0-10 first-round defeat by Tipperary. Power was added to the Waterford senior hurling team in advance of the 2020 season. Clonea Power–Rathgormack GAA
Rathgormack GAA is a GAA club based in the Rathgormack region of County Waterford. Originally two clubs, Clonea Power and Rathgormack amalgamated in 1987 to form one club. History Rathgormack GAA Club is a Gaelic football club which is assisted by Clonea Hurling Club, both club's which are in the parish of Clonea and Rathgormack. This arrangement between the two clubs was put in place in 1989. Football was played in the village of Rathgormack before the foundation of the GAA in 1884. It was one of the first parts of Waterford to be affiliated to the organisation. 2020 National Hurling League
The 2020 National Hurling League was the 89th season of the National Hurling League for county teams. Division 1 was restructured in 2020 into two groups of approximately equal strength. The league was originally scheduled to end on 29 March 2020. The public health measures introduced to combat the COVID-19 pandemic in Ireland resulted in most of the final stages being delayed to October and the Division 1 final stage being reduced from five games to one. Eir Sport and RTÉ provide live TV coverage of the league on Saturday nights. TG4 broadcast Sunday afternoon games. The highlights programmes are RTÉ2's League Sunday on Sunday evenings, TG4's '' GAA 2020'' on Monday evenings and Eir Sport's Allianz Leagues Reloaded on Wednesday evenings. Waterford Intermediate Hurling Championship
Waterford Intermediate Hurling Championship is a second-tier hurling competition organised by the Waterford Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The winning club progresses to the senior grade the following year for the Waterford Senior Hurling Championship. The winning club also represents Waterford GAA in the Munster Intermediate Club Hurling Championship. Each of the two divisions of Waterford GAA - East Division and West Division - organises its own competition, with the two winners contesting the county final. 2022 Fitzgibbon Cup
The 2022 Fitzgibbon Cup was the 105th staging of the Fitzgibbon Cup since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1912. It is sponsored by Electric Ireland, and known as the Electric Ireland HE GAA Fitzgibbon Cup for sponsorship purposes. The draw for the group stage fixtures took place on 14 December 2020. The 2022 Fitzgibbon Cup started with the group stage on 19 January 2022 and ended on 19 February 2022. University College Cork were the defending champions, however, they were beaten by Institute of Technology, Carlow at the quarter-final stage. The final was played on 19 February 2022 at the Institute of Technology, Carlow, between the University of Limerick and NUI Galway, in what was their first ever meeting in a final. Fitzgibbon Cup
The Fitzgibbon Cup ( ga, Corn Mhic Giobúin) is the trophy for the premier hurling championship among higher education institutions (universities, colleges and institutes of technology) in Ireland. The Fitzgibbon Cup competition is administered by Comhairle Ard Oideachais Cumann Lúthchleas Gael (CLG), the GAA's Higher Education Council. Comhairle Ard Oideachais also oversees the Ryan Cup (tier 2 hurling championship), the Fergal Maher Cup (tier 3 hurling championship) and the Padraig MacDiarmada (tier 4 hurling championship). The GAA Higher Education Cups are sponsored by Electric Ireland. The National Hurling League is an annual Inter county, inter-county hurling competition featuring teams from Ireland and England. Founded in 1925 by the Gaelic Athletic Association, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation within the league system. The league has 35 teams divided into six divisions, with either five or six teams in each division. Promotion and relegation between these divisions is a central feature of the league. Although primarily a competition for Irish teams, teams from England – currently Lancashire GAA, Lancashire, London GAA, London and Warwickshire GAA, Warwickshire – also take part, while in the past New York GAA, New York also fielded a team for the latter stages of the league. The 2020 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 133rd staging of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county hurling tournament, since its establishment in 1887. The 2020 fixtures were announced in October 2019. Games were initially scheduled to begin on 9 May 2020.
