William Foster Hayes III (born June 5, 1925) is an American actor and recording artist. His song “The Ballad of Davy Crockett“ hit the top of the ''Billboard (magazine), Billboard'' charts in the spring of 1955. Following a successful career as a musician which began in the late 1940s, Hayes began to focus on dramatic acting parts in the late 1960s, which led him to be cast in a role that gained him additional fame to a younger generation. This new chapter began in 1970 when he originated Doug Williams (Days of our Lives), the character of Doug Williams on NBC's ''Days of Our Lives'', which he continues to play to date. Bill Hayes is an American television producer, and the founder and President of Figure 8 Films and Thunder Mountain Media. Hayes has been the Executive Producer for over 1,300 programs for the Discovery Networks and numerous other networks around the world. These shows include the hit series ''Sister Wives'', ''19 Kids and Counting'', ''Salvage Dawgs'', ''Jon & Kate Plus 8'', and ''Bringing Up Bates''. In 1992, he created ''The Operation'' series that revolutionized medical programming for cable. In 1997 he helped create and produced the ''Breed All About It'' series for Animal Planet. Billy Hayes (musician)
Billy Hayes (born August 7, 1985) is an American musician and former drummer and back-up vocalist for Wavves and Jay Reatard. Hayes first performed in the Memphis hardcore punk band, That Was Then. Later he started playing in psychedelic pop bands MÜTZ, the Barbaras and the Boston Chinks, all based in Memphis, Tennessee. Hayes played drums in Jay Reatard's band from 2005 to 2009. While in Reatard's band, Hayes drummed on the Matador Singles Collection, Watch Me Fall, and a split 7-inch with Sonic Youth. Hayes and bandmate Stephen Pope quit in October 2009 before joining Wavves. In Wavves, he drummed, sang back-up vocals and wrote two songs on their third album '' King of the Beach'': "Convertible Balloon" and "Baby Say Goodbye", the album's closing track. Hayes left Wavves in November 2010. Hayes' song "Stained Glass (Won't You Let Me into Your Heart)" was released on the Wavves EP "Summer is Forever" in January 2011. Billie Armstrong Brosch (August 5, 1924 – April 29, 2021), known professionally as Billie Hayes, was an American television, film, and stage actress, best known for her comic portrayals of Witchiepoo and Li'l Abner's Mammy Yokum. Early years Hayes was born in Du Quoin, Illinois, on August 5, 1924, to Charles and Marie (Armstrong) Brosch. Her father was from Germany, and was a coal miner who headed the local miners' union. Her mother was from Illinois, and worked in administration relief. She had an older brother, Louis Brosch. She started working professionally in entertainment at the age of nine, tap dancing in local theatres. By the time she was in high school, she played in bandleader Vince Genovese's orchestra, then toured with her own singing and dancing act throughout the Midwest. William Hayes (born June 1, 1943) is a former American football coach and college athletics administrator. He retired as the athletic director at Winston-Salem State University in 2014. Hayes served as the head football coach at Winston-Salem State from 1976 to 1987 and at North Carolina A&T State University from 1988 to 2003, compiling a career college football record of 195–104–2. In 27 seasons as a head coach, Hayes has the distinction of being the winningest coach at both football programs. He is an alumnus of North Carolina Central University. Coaching career Hayes started his coaching career as a running backs coach on the coaching staff at Wake Forest University, from 1973 to 1975, making him one of the first African-American coaches in the Atlantic Coast Conference. William Ernest Hayes (born October 24, 1957), nicknamed "Wild Bill", is a former catcher for the Chicago Cubs (1980–81). After his playing career he became a coach for the San Francisco Giants. Early life and playing career Born in Cheverly, Maryland, Hayes grew up in North Platte, Nebraska and graduated from St. Patrick High School. Hayes caught the eye of coach Bob Warn at Iowa Western Community College and was offered a scholarship at Indiana State when Warn took the head coaching position there in 1976. Hayes played three seasons at Indiana State (1976–78). In 1978, his junior season at Indiana State, Hayes was an all-conference player and led the team with 13 home runs. He batted .317 with 48 RBI (in 53 games) and threw out 18 of 21 runners attempting to steal. Hayes was the Cubs' first-round draft selection and the 13th overall pick in 1978. William Edward Hayes (7 November 1915 in Cork, Ireland – 22 April 1987) was an Irish footballer who played for Huddersfield Town, Cork United and Burnley. As an international, Hayes played for both Ireland teams – the FAI XI and the IFA XI. Like fellow dual international, Billy Walsh, he also represented England Schoolboys.
