Billy Hartung (footballer)
William Hartung (born 24 January 1995) is an Australian rules football player who plays with the North Adelaide Football Club in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL). He previously played with the Hawthorn Football Club and the North Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Junior career When Billy Hartung was 14 years old he set a Mornington Peninsula Junior Football League record for most goals kicked in a single game, kicking 20 goals straight while playing for the Red Hill under-14s against Dromana. Hartung progressed to the VSFL under 18 competition and played with the Dandenong Stingrays. Selected an All-Australian at under-18 level in 2013, Hartung attended the AFL Draft Combine in October 2013 when he ran a 16.6 beep test, breaking (future teammate) Bradley Hill’s record of 16.1. Dandenong Stingrays
The Dandenong Southern Stingrays are an Australian rules football team in the NAB League, the Victorian statewide under-18s competition. 1992 saw the birth of the Southern Stingrays, developed under the leadership of Steve Kennedy (Regional Manager) and Ron Roach (Promotions Manager) with its home base located at Ben Kavanagh Reserve, Mordialloc, Victoria, Mordialloc. The side is coached in the inaugural year by Peter Russo. In 1995 the club moved from Mordialloc to Dandenong, Victoria, Dandenong and it also changed its name to the Dandenong Southern Stingrays. The club is currently under the leadership of Darren Flanigan (Region Talent Manager) and Matthew Crozier (Female Talent Coordinator) with the home base located at Shepley Oval, Dandenong. Box Hill Hawks Football Club is an Australian rules football club playing in the Victorian Football League. It has an alliance with the Hawthorn Football Club, which plays in the Australian Football League. Early Australian rules football in Box Hill – 1903 to 1935 Organised Australian rules football within the municipality of Box Hill can be traced back to the year 1903. In that year Mr EFG Hodges, the proprietor of the "Reporter" newspaper, founded the "Reporter District Football Association". The six foundation teams were Bayswater, Box Hill, Canterbury, Ferntree Gully, Mitcham and Ringwood. AFL Rising Star
The AFL Rising Star is an Australian rules football award presented annually to the player adjudged the best young player in the Australian Football League (AFL) for the year. It was first presented in the 1993 season, and was won by Nathan Buckley, playing for the Brisbane Bears. The recipient of the AFL Rising Star has been awarded the Ron Evans Medal since 2007, named in honour of the former AFL Commission chairman following his death that year. The award was sponsored by Norwich Union Australia from its inception in 1993 until 2000.
