Billy Drennan
Billy Drennan (born 28 November 2003) is an Irish hurler. At club level he plays with Galmoy and at inter-county level with the Kilkenny senior hurling team. Career Drennan first played hurling at juvenile and underage levels with the Galmoy club, while also playing as a schoolboy with CBS Kilkenny in the Leinster Colleges' Championship. He has also lined out with Maynooth University in the Fitzgibbon Cup. Drennan first appeared on the inter-county scene as a member of the Kilkenny minor hurling team that lost the 2019 All-Ireland minor final to Galway. He was the championship's top scorer with 2-66. Brennan was again part of the minor team that lost the 2020 All-Ireland minor final to Galway. He immediately progressed to the under-20 team and was man of the match when Kilkenny beat Limerick in the 2022 All-Ireland under-20 final. 2021 All-Ireland Under-20 Hurling Championship
The 2021 All-Ireland Under-20 Hurling Championship was the third staging of the All-Ireland Under-20 Championship and the 58th staging overall of a hurling championship for players between the minor and senior grades. The championship began on 29 June 2021 and ended on 18 August 2021. The 2021 championship was the first to begin before the previous year's championship had concluded. Cork were the defending champions. The number of participating teams also increased, with Down and Kildare joining the Leinster Championship. The final was played on 18 August 2021 at Semple Stadium in Thurles, between Cork and Galway, in what was their first meeting in a final in 23 years. National Hurling League
The National Hurling League is an annual inter-county hurling competition featuring teams from Ireland and England. Founded in 1925 by the Gaelic Athletic Association, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation within the league system. The league has 35 teams divided into six divisions, with either five or six teams in each division. Promotion and relegation between these divisions is a central feature of the league. Although primarily a competition for Irish teams, teams from England – currently Lancashire, London and Warwickshire – also take part, while in the past New York also fielded a team for the latter stages of the league. The 2023 Walsh Cup (hurling), Walsh Cup was an early-season inter-county hurling competition based in the Irish province of Leinster.
