Billy Askew
Billy Askew (born 2 October 1959 in Great Lumley (near Durham), England) is an English footballer best known for his career with Hull City. Askew attended Lord Lawson school in Birtley and began his career with Middlesbrough before joining Hull in 1982. A left-footed midfield dynamo, he was an integral part of the side's rise from the Fourth to Second Division in the 80s before leaving for Newcastle United in 1990. After a loan spell at Shrewsbury Town, he moved to Gateshead. In 1994, he moved to Waterford United where he made 3 appearances. After retiring from playing he was a publican in Hull. He is currently connected to the coaching staff at Darlington F.C. Darlington Football Club is an association football club based in Darlington, County Durham, England. Great Lumley
Great Lumley is a village in County Durham, England. It is situated south east of Chester-le-Street, near Lumley Castle. It has a population of 3,843, reducing to 3,684 at the 2011 census. The Lumley family, East and West Halls The village of Great Lumley was formerly part of the Lumley family estate. The Lumley family are descended from Ligulf of Lumley, an Anglo-Saxon noble who fled from the Normans in the south of England and found shelter in the dominions of Saint Cuthbert. He married Ealdgyth (or Algitha), granddaughter of Uhtred the Bold, Earl of Northumbria. One of Uhtred's wives was Ælfgifu, the youngest daughter of King Æthelred the Unready. The long-ruined East Hall was the seat of the Lumley family before Lumley Castle was built, and is the supposed location of the murder of Ligulf by Bishop Walcher's officers after Ligulf complained to the bishop of their cruelty. Waterford United
Waterford Football Club ( ga, Cumann Peile Phort Láirge) formerly Waterford United Football Club is an Irish association football club based in Waterford who play in the League of Ireland First Division. The club was founded and elected to the league in 1930. Originally the club was based at the greyhound stadium known as Kilcohan Park, but has now moved to the Waterford Regional Sports Centre. In 2018 the club and its players became fully professional. Darlington is a market town in the Borough of Darlington, County Durham, England. The River Skerne flows through the town; it is a tributary of the River Tees. The Tees itself flows south of the town. In the 19th century, Darlington underwent substantial industrial development, spurred by the establishment there of the world's first permanent steam-locomotive-powered passenger railway: the Stockton and Darlington Railway. Gateshead () is a large town in northern England. It is on the River Tyne's southern bank, opposite Newcastle to which it is joined by seven bridges.
