Billa (1980 Film)
''Billa'' is a 1980 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film directed by R. Krishnamoorthy and produced by Suresh Balaje. The film stars Rajinikanth, Sripriya and Balaji. It is a remake of ''Don'', a 1978 Hindi film written by Salim–Javed and starring Amitabh Bachchan. The film revolves around Billa, a powerful ganglord who is fatally wounded during an encounter with the police. Wanting to uncover Billa's accomplices, DSP Alexander trains a lookalike simpleton Rajappa to pose as Billa and infiltrate the gang. The rest of the film deals with how Rajappa learns more about Billa's gang, and tries to get all of them arrested. ''Billa'' was released on 26 January 1980, and became a commercial success, running for over 25 weeks in theatres. It was a turning point in Rajinikanth's career, disproving detractors that claimed he was "finished" and which saw him accepted as a full-fledged hero. ''Billa'' is a 2007 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film directed by Vishnuvardhan. It is a remake of 1980 Tamil film ''Billa'' which itself was a remake of the 1978 Hindi film ''Don''. Billa Flint
Billa Flint (February 9, 1805 – June 15, 1894) was a businessman and political figure in Ontario. He was a Liberal member of the Senate of Canada from 1867 to 1894. He was born in Elizabethtown (later Brockville) in Upper Canada and dropped out of school after six weeks to work for his father as a clerk. In 1829, unhappy with the sale of liquor at his father's hotel, he moved to Belleville and set up his own business there. In the same year, he also founded a temperance society there. In 1836, he was appointed magistrate and also became president of the Board of Police. He was elected to the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada in 1847 for Hastings and, in 1854, for Hastings South. In 1863, he was elected to the Legislative Council for Trent division and served until Confederation when he was appointed to the Senate. In 1866, he served as mayor of Belleville. Wilhelmine Margaret Eve "Billa" Harrod (''née'' Cresswell, 1 December 1911 – 9 May 2005), was a British writer and architectural conservationist, best known for saving the mediaeval churches of Norwich, and the wife of the economist Sir Roy Harrod. Bila, Ethiopia
Bilo, formerly spelled Billo and Billò, is a town in central Ethiopia. It is located in the East Welega Zone of the Oromia at an elevation of above sea level. Bilo is the administrative center of Wama Bonaya woreda and was sometimes also known as Bila and Falle. Overview Local landmarks in Bilo include the Medhane Alem church. Ballysadare (), locally also Ballisodare, is a town in County Sligo, Ireland. It is about 7 kilometres (4 miles) south of Sligo town. The town developed on an important crossing of the Owenmore River. History Toponymy The Ox Mountains () are located west of the town. The town itself is named after the falls on the Owenmore River. Ballysadare is in the barony of Leyny formerly the ''túath'' of Luighne Connacht, and the barony of Tirerril, formerly the ''túath'' of Tír Olloíl. The Owenmore river forms the border between the baronies. Ballysadare also borders two other baronies in Co. Sligo, Carbury to the North and Tireragh to the West. Ballysadare is in the diocese of Achonry. Alternative names for the falls are ''Ess Mac Modairn'' (Falls of the son of Modairn) and ''Ess na n-Éan'' (The Falls of the Bird).
