Bill Tallman
Bill G. Tallman (born ) is an American politician serving as a member of the New Mexico Senate. from the 18th district Tallman previously served as deputy city manager of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Education Tallman earned a Bachelor of Arts from Syracuse University in 1968 and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Cincinnati in 1972. Career Tallman has worked as the City Manager of Moline, Illinois, New Castle, Pennsylvania, and Norwich, Connecticut. He also served as Town Manager of Smithfield, Rhode Island. After relocating to New Mexico to become Deputy City Manager of Santa Fe, he remained in the area and ran for a seat in the New Mexico Senate. Lisa A. Torraco (born April 30, 1962) is an American attorney and politician who served as a Republican member of the New Mexico Senate from January 15, 2013 to January 15, 2017. Education Lisa Torraco earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University of New Mexico in 1988 and a Juris Doctor from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 1991. Career She began her legal career as a prosecutor at the Second Judicial District Attorney's office and gained respect as a young prosecutor, and was awarded New Prosecutor of the Year in 1993. Torraco founded Torraco law in 2006 after finishing ten years teaching at the University of New Mexico School of Law in the District Attorney Clinical law program. Smithfield is a town that is located in Providence County, Rhode Island, United States. It includes the historic villages of Esmond, Georgiaville, Mountaindale, Hanton City, Stillwater and Greenville. The population was 22,118 at the 2020 census. Smithfield is the home of Bryant University, a private four year college. History The area comprising modern-day Smithfield was first settled in 1663 as a farming community by several British colonists, including John Steere. The area was originally within the boundaries of Providence until 1731 when Smithfield was incorporated as a separate town. Norwich, Connecticut
Norwich ( ) (also called "The Rose of New England") is a city in New London County, Connecticut, United States. The Yantic, Shetucket, and Quinebaug Rivers flow into the city and form its harbor, from which the Thames River flows south to Long Island Sound. The population was 40,125 at the 2020 United States Census. History The town of Norwich was founded on the site of what is now Norwichtown in 1659 by settlers from Saybrook Colony led by Major John Mason and James Fitch. They purchased the land "nine miles square" that became Norwich from Mohegan Sachem Uncas. One of the co-founders of Norwich was Thomas Leffingwell who rescued Uncas when surrounded by his Narragansett enemies, and whose son established the Leffingwell Inn.
