Bill Ryan (journalist)
William Emmett Ryan III was an American broadcast journalist with the NBC television network and its owned-and-operated local station WNBC-TV in New York City for 26 years. He served for a year (1970-1971) as news anchor at WOR-TV. Ryan was also co-anchor of the ''Ralph & Ryan'' radio morning show on WMCA in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Ryan may be best remembered for co-anchoring NBC's coverage of the assassination of U.S. President John F. Bill Ryan (footballer, Born 1944)
William Ronald Ryan (born 26 November 1944) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Geelong in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Football Ryan, who was recruited from Swan Hill, could play as a ruckman, centre half back and key position forward. On 6 July 1963 he was a member of the Geelong team that were comprehensively and unexpectedly beaten by Fitzroy, 9.13 (67) to 3.13 (31) in the 1963 Miracle Match. He participated in the 1967 Grand Final but his side lost and he never played in another. A strong mark off the ball, he finished equal fifth in the 1971 Brownlow Medal count. The same year he kicked a career best 67 goals, with eight of them coming against Footscray at Kardinia Park. He is often remembered for a match-winning goal he kicked after the siren against Collingwood at his home ground in the 1967 season. William James Ryan (born December 23, 1955, in Moncton, New Brunswick) is a professor of Social Work at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He is an international expert in the field of sexuality, sexual education, homophobia, health and gay men's health. He has conducted research in all these areas, published scientific articles, chapters and edited books. He has spoken at conferences internationally and consulted and trained with many international organizations. He is one of the leaders in the international gay men's health movement and has been a driving force behind the transformation of Action Séro-Zéro in Montréal into a full-fledged gay men's health organization. In 1992 he was the founding president of the Board of Directors of Séro-Zéro, which was founded to undertake HIV prevention among HIV negative gay men. Billy Ryan
William Richard Ryan Jr. (April 21, 1887 – December 20, 1951) was an American football player from Cleveland, Ohio, and a starting quarterback for the University of Notre Dame. Ryan began his career as the starting quarterback, placekicker and punt returner for the Notre Dame football squad in 1907, leading the team to an undefeated season of 6-0-1 in his freshman year. Following his initial season, Ryan moved to right halfback where he had his best season as a junior in 1909, rushing for over 90 yards in a win over Michigan State, and scoring the winning touchdown in the team's first-ever victory over Michigan. A knee injury would sideline him for most of his senior season.
