Bill Patton (actor)
Bill Patton (June 2, 1894 – December 12, 1951) was an American actor of the silent and early sound eras. Born in Amarillo, Texas, he debuted in the film industry in ''The Boss of the Lazy Y'' in 1918. After small roles in several films, he received his first starring role in 1921's ''Outlawed''. Over the next six years he starred in more than 20 films. In 1927, he returned to smaller roles, which continued through the advent of talking pictures. His last performance on screen was in a small role in the classic ''The Picture of Dorian Gray'' in 1945. He died on December 12, 1951. Amarillo, Texas
Amarillo ( ; Spanish for "yellow") is a city in the U.S. state of Texas and the seat of Potter County. It is the 14th-most populous city in Texas and the largest city in the Texas Panhandle. A portion of the city extends into Randall County. The estimated population of Amarillo was 200,393 as of April 1, 2020. The Amarillo- Pampa-Borger combined statistical area had an estimated population of 308,297 as of 2020. The Last Man (film)
''The Last Man'' is an apocalyptic, dystopian science fiction novel by Mary Shelley, first published in 1826. The narrative concerns Europe in the late 21st century, ravaged by the rise of a bubonic plague pandemic that rapidly sweeps across the entire globe, ultimately resulting in the near-extinction of humanity. It also includes discussion of the British state as a republic, for which Shelley sat in meetings of the House of Commons to gain insight to the governmental system of the Romantic era. The novel includes many fictive allusions to her husband Percy Bysshe Shelley, who drowned in a shipwreck four years before the book's publication, as well as their close friend Lord Byron, who had died two years previously. ''The Last Man'' is one of the first pieces of dystopian fiction published. It was critically savaged and remained largely obscure at the time of its publication. ''Fort Frayne'' is a 1926 American silent Western film directed by Ben F. Wilson and starring Wilson, Neva Gerber, Ruth Royce, and Lafe McKee. It is based on the 1901 novel of the same name by Charles King. It is now considered to be a lost film. Plot As described in a film magazine reviews, Captain Malcolm Teale loves Helen Farrar, daughter of Colonel John Farrar. The Colonel, fatally wounded in an Indian fight, tells Teale that his son Royle, believed dead, is actually alive and a fugitive from justice. Following the death of the Colonel, his wife takes as a companion the woman who is the son's wife. The fugitive son joins the Army and meets his wife when he is assigned to the post.
