Bill Moore (cricketer)
William Henry Moore (16 October 1863 – 25 February 1956) was an Australian cricketer who represented both New South Wales and Western Australia at first-class level. From Maitland, New South Wales, Moore came from a large cricketing family, with his father, uncle, brother, and two of his nephews all playing first-class cricket for New South Wales. One of his nephews was Charlie Macartney, who later played Test cricket for the Australian national cricket team. Moore played all four matches for New South Wales in the 1893–94 Sheffield Shield, playing as a wicket-keeper. The second of these matches, against South Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground, was played alongside his brother, Leon Moore, the only time the brothers played together at first-class level. Batting right-handed, Moore's highest first-class score, 31 not out, was made in the return match against South Australia, at the Adelaide Oval. Test Cricket
Test cricket is a form of first-class cricket played at international level between teams representing full member countries of the International Cricket Council (ICC). A match consists of four innings (two per team) and is scheduled to last for up to five days. In the past, some Test matches had no time limit and were called Timeless Tests. The term "test match" was originally coined in 1861–62 but in a different context. Test cricket did not become an officially recognised format until the 1890s, but many international matches since 1877 have been retrospectively awarded Test status. Western Australian Grade Cricket
WA Premier Cricket in Western Australia refers to the semi-professional cricket league played at a level below the first-class Western Warriors and other state teams. The competition is administered by the Western Australian Cricket Association. It is the premier club cricket competition in Western Australia and players vying for Western Warriors and national team selection are typically chosen from Premier Cricket competition clubs. Retiring international and first-class players wishing to continue playing will generally return to their original Premier Cricket club. There are currently 16 teams in the competition. The WACA (formally the WACA Ground) is a sports stadium in Perth, Western Australia. The stadium's name derives from the initials of its owners and operators, the Western Australian Cricket Association. Adelaide Oval is a sports ground in Adelaide, South Australia, located in the parklands between the city centre and North Adelaide. The South Australia cricket team, officially named the West End Redbacks, is an Australian men's professional first-class cricket team based in Adelaide, South Australia.
