Life Bill (Chaim) Meyer (10 December 1942) Born in Australia, Bill Meyer graduated from Melbourne University in art history and languages and then from the National Gallery Art School, (later Victorian College of the Arts), completing his formal art training at the Royal College of Art in London (1972). Research at the Yidisher Visnshaftlekher Institut (YIVO) New York, as well as Yeshiva and Kollel learning, has provided much of the conceptual underpinning of Meyer’s artwork, and he was a visiting resident artist during the ‘80s and ‘90s at the Mishkenot Sha’ananim artists’ studios in Jerusalem. Work Meyer established a fine art editioning studio in London during the 1970s at 10 Martello Street, Hackney. By 1973 he was collaborating with Avital Geva, Moshe Gershuni, Matthew Greenberg and Michael Druks exhibiting at the Romi Goldmuntz Centre, Antwerp. Cosey Fanni Tutti
Cosey Fanni Tutti (born Christine Carol Newby; 4 November 1951) is an English performance artist, musician and writer, best known for her time in the avant-garde groups Throbbing Gristle and Chris & Cosey. Tutti first performed under the name Cosmosis. According to Throbbing Gristle biographer Simon Ford, the name of Cosey Fanni Tutti was suggested to her by mail artist Robin Klassnick based on the title of the opera ''Così fan tutte'', meaning literally "That's What All Women Do." Early career Tutti was a performer with COUM Transmissions, of which she was a founding member in 1969. Her addition changed the nature of the group, which had been mostly a musical venture. Castlemaine Art Museum
Castlemaine Art Museum is an Australian art gallery and museum in Castlemaine, Victoria in the Shire of Mount Alexander. It was founded in 1913. It is housed in a 1931 Art Deco neo-classical building constructed for the purpose, heritage-listed by the National Trust. Its collection concentrates on Australian art and the museum houses historical artefacts and displays drawn from the district. The Museum is governed by private trustees and managed by a board elected by subscribers and provided with state and local government funding and support from benefactors, local families, artists and patrons. The Jewish Museum of Australia, not to be confused with the Sydney Jewish Museum, aims to "explore and share the Jewish experience in Australia". It is located in St Kilda, a suburb of Melbourne. History The Jewish Museum of Australia was established in 1977 by a group of volunteers guided by Rabbi Ronald Lubofski. As the museum initially did not have its own premises, exhibitions were held in the Myer Gallery and the tramways Board building while a search for a location for the Museum took place. At this time the committee also began to procure items for the Museum's collection. In 1982 the museum opened a temporary site in the abandoned classrooms of the Melbourne Hebrew Congregation in South Yarra with the patronage of Sir Zelman Cowen. The Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) is an artistic and cultural centre on The Mall in London, just off Trafalgar Square.
