William John Lloyd (December 16, 1915 – December 24, 1972) was an American professional basketball player. He played for the Akron Goodyear Wingfoots in the National Basketball League and averaged 2.6 points per game. He later worked for Goodyear as an accountant. 1954 World Sportscar Championship
The 1954 World Sportscar Championship season was the second season of FIA World Sportscar Championship motor racing. It featured a series of six endurance races for sports car racing, sportscars, contested from 24 January to 23 November 1954. The championship was won by Ferrari. Season summary The 1954 World Sports Car Championship was contested over a six race series. With legendary races such as the Mille Miglia and the Carrera Panamericana now part of the international race calendar, they were accompanied by the 24 Hours of Le Mans, 12 Hours of Sebring and the RAC Tourist Trophy. The championship started in January in Argentina with a new race to the calendar, the 1000 km Buenos Aires, but the Spa 24 Hours, 24 Hours of Spa was omitted. Bill Lloyd (tennis)
William Lloyd (born 7 May 1949) is a former professional tennis player from Australia. Biography Lloyd, who was born in Sydney, won the junior doubles title at the 1968 Australian Championships, partnering Phil Dent. He joined the University of Southern Illinois in 1969 where he played collegiate tennis and he spent the 1970s competing on the professional circuit, as well as World TeamTennis. During his career he competed in the main draw of all four grand slam tournaments. He lost a marathon match at the 1972 Wimbledon Championships to Wanaro N'Godrella, 9–11 in the fifth set. At the 1975 US Open he and Phil Dent had a win over Björn Borg and Rod Laver en route to the quarter-finals. Placebo are a British rock band, formed in London in 1994 by vocalist–guitarist Brian Molko and bassist–guitarist Stefan Olsdal. Drummer Robert Schultzberg joined in late 1994, but left in 1996 shortly after the release of the band's eponymous debut album due to conflicts with Molko, and was replaced the same year by Steve Hewitt. Following the release of a demo, a split single, and their eponymous debut album, Placebo gained exposure in 1997 after the single "Nancy Boy" became popular in the UK, a song notorious at the time for its gender-bending content. The band stood out amongst the Britpop scene they were associated with at the time for their androgynous appearance and musical content, and lyrics which openly discussed sexuality, mental health, and drug use. Hewitt left Placebo in 2007, due to personal and musical differences. He was replaced the following year by Steve Forrest. John William Lloyd (born December 6, 1955), known professionally as Bill Lloyd, is an American country music singer-songwriter. From 1987 to 1991, he was one-half of the duo Foster & Lloyd, and a member of The Sky Kings from then until 1997. Foster & Lloyd John William Lloyd was born in Fort Hood, Texas. Due to his father being a member of the military, he moved across the United States frequently as a child. By the early 1980s, Lloyd was living in Tennessee and briefly attended Western Kentucky University before dropping out to pursue a career in music. In 1987, Lloyd joined Radney Foster to form the country duo Foster & Lloyd. They recorded for RCA Records Nashville from then until 1987, charting nine singles on the ''Billboard'' Hot Country Songs charts. This total included "Crazy Over You", " Sure Thing", " What Do You Want from Me This Time", and " Fair Shake", which the two wrote together.
