Bill Lamond
William McMillan Lamond (13 July 1920 – 5 July 1990) was an Australian politician. He was a National Party member of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland from 1974 until 1977, representing the electorate of Wynnum. Lamond was born in Cloncurry, Queensland, and served in the Royal Australian Air Force for three years. He was a real estate agent before and after his time in parliament, and also served as president of the Wynnum Chamber of Commerce, as a mediator with the Retail Shop Leases Tribunal, and as dispute arbitrator with the Real Estate Institute of Queensland. Lota, Queensland
Lota is an eastern outer coastal suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the , Lota had a population of 3,256 people. Geography Lota is by road east of the Brisbane CBD. The south and east of the suburb is dominated by the mudflats and mangrove wetlands of Lota Creek and Waterloo Bay. To the west and north, the land rises towards the heights of Manly and Manly West. The suburb is of primarily post-war residential make-up but is gradually being developed with modern beachside properties. History This part of Moreton Bay was originally occupied by the semi-nomadic Mipirimm subclan of the Quandamooka people. Edward Harris (Australian Politician)
Edward David Harris (30 August 1911 – 2 October 1993) was a member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly. Biography Harris was born at Brisbane, Queensland, the son of the Alfred Edward Harris and his wife Elizabeth Roxborough (née Smith). He was educated at Goodna, Wynnum, and Sherwood state schools. He joined the RAAF in 1940 and served in the 24th and 75th Squadrons, being discharged in 1945 with the rank of sergeant. On his return to Australia he worked as a clothing manufacturer at Manly, specializing in men's and boys wear. On 20 May 1942, Harris married Marion Miller Morrison and together had a beautiful daughter, also named Marion, and a son.
