Bill Jennings (American Football)
William Arlen Jennings (March 13, 1918 – June 8, 2002) was an American college football player and coach and athletics administrator. He served as the head football coach of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln from 1957 to 1961. He coached the Nebraska Cornhuskers for five losing seasons, compiling a 15–34–1 record (.310). His best seasons were 1959 and 1960, when the Huskers were 4–6 in each year. His conference record was 8–24 (.250) and his Husker teams never won more than two conference games in a season. Among Jennings's most notable upsets was the ending of Bud Wilkinson's 74-straight conference victories. The Cornhuskers beat the Oklahoma Sooners, 25–21, at Nebraska's 1959 homecoming game on Halloween. Jennings followed up a second consecutive win the following year with a 17–14 victory in Norman. The 1959 win was the first for Nebraska since 1942, and the 1959 and 1960 wins were the first consecutive victories over the Sooners since 1939 through 1942. After ...

William Lee Jennings (September 28, 1925 – October 20, 2010) was a shortstop in Major League Baseball. Listed at , 175 lb., he batted and threw right-handed. He studied business at Washington University. A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Jennings played briefly for the St. Louis Browns during the season. He was signed by the New York Giants in 1946 and immediately was assigned to their Minor league system. He then was purchased by the Browns from the Giants in 1951. Jennings posted a .179 average (35-for-195) in 64 games for the Browns, driving in 13 runs and scoring 20 times, while collecting 10 doubles, two triples, and one stolen base. William Jennings (25 February 1893 – 1968) was a Welsh football player best known for playing for Bolton Wanderers, for whom he made over 250 appearances in The Football League. Billy Jennings (born 20 February 1952) is an English former footballer who played as a striker in the Football League for Watford, West Ham United, Orient and Luton Town. He also played in the North American Soccer League for Chicago Sting. A former youth player with Watford, Jennings made his professional debut for the Hornets on 10 April 1970, a third place play-off game against Manchester United in the 1969–70 FA Cup campaign at Highbury which the team lost 2–0. He made 10 League appearances that season, 16 in 1971–72, and 19 in 1972–73. The 1973–74 season ended with Jennings as Third Division top scorer on 26 goals, and Watford Player of the Season. After 100 appearances for Watford, and England Youth international honours, Jennings signed for West Ham United for £110,000 in September 1974, an early signing for new manager John Lyall.
