Bill Heller
Harold William Heller (September 3, 1935 – September 11, 2020) was an American politician and educator. Heller served as the Dean, College of Education and Director of the Wally and Louise Bishop Center for Ethical Leadership and Civic Engagement at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg. Immediately prior to assuming these positions he served two terms in the Florida House of Representatives, representing Florida House District 52. Heller had a long history of community service having served on or chairing a number of non-profit agencies and organizations boards of directors. Heller chaired the Pinellas County Cultural Foundation and served on the boards of Family Resources, Suncoast Hospice Institute, St Petersburg Preservation, The Mahaffey Theater Foundation and the advisory boards of the Dunedin Fine Arts Center and Studio 620. Scales Mound, Illinois
Scales Mound is a village in Jo Daviess County, Illinois, United States. The population was 436 at the 2020 census. History The original town of Scales Mound was located at the base of an erosional remnant similar to Charles Mound, about a mile southwest of the present-day village. In 1830 Samuel Scales purchased the original village site from John Sole and built a tavern at the base of the mound along Sucker Trail, a major east-west corridor. The land that the present-day village of Scales Mound is on was purchased from the U.S. government in 1848 by a man named Dunning. Sunken Gardens (Florida)
The Sunken Gardens are 4 acres (1.6 hectares) of well-established botanical gardens, located in the Historic Old Northeast neighborhood of St. Petersburg, Florida, at 1825 4th Street North. The Gardens have existed for more than a century, and are one of the oldest roadside tourist attractions in the United States. The Gardens are now operated by the City of St. Petersburg, and maintained with the help of volunteers. Sunken Gardens are open to the public every day of the week. An admission fee is charged for entrance into the gardens and a yearly membership is also available. Betty Castor
Elizabeth Castor (née Bowe; born May 11, 1941) is an American educator and former politician. Castor was elected to the Florida Senate and as Florida Education Commissioner, and she subsequently served as the President of the University of South Florida, and President of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. Her public service included three terms in the Florida State Senate and one term as a Hillsborough County Commissioner. In 2004, she was the Democratic nominee for the open U.S. Senate seat of retiring Senator Bob Graham and was narrowly defeated by Mel Martinez. Richard David Kriseman (born August 2, 1962) is an American politician who served as the 53rd Mayor of St. Petersburg from 2014 to 2022. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served as a member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing the 53rd district from 2006 to 2012.
