Bill Hager (Florida Politician)
Bill Hager (February 6, 1947 – October 13, 2021) was an American politician from Florida. He served four terms in the Florida House of Representatives as a Republican, representing parts of coastal Palm Beach County from 2010 to 2018. Biography Hager was born in Pipestone, Minnesota. He later moved to Iowa, where he attended the University of Northern Iowa, graduating with a bachelor's degree in mathematics. He then moved to Hawaii, where he worked as a middle school math teacher, and attended the University of Hawaiʻi, receiving his Master of Education in educational psychology in 1972. Hager then attended the University of Illinois College of Law, graduating with his Juris Doctor in 1974. He moved back to Iowa, where he worked as legal counsel to the Republican caucus in the Iowa House of Representatives in 1975. The Florida House of Representatives is the lower house of the Florida Legislature, the state legislature of the U.S. state of Florida, the Florida Senate being the upper house. Article III, Section 1 of the Constitution of Florida, adopted in 1968, defines the role of the Legislature and how it is to be constituted. The Iowa House of Representatives is the lower house of the Iowa General Assembly, the upper house being the Iowa Senate. There are 100 seats in the Iowa House of Representatives, representing 100 single-member districts across the state, formed by dividing the 50 Senate districts in half. The ''Sun Sentinel'' (also known as the ''South Florida Sun Sentinel'', known until 2008 as the ''Sun-Sentinel'', and stylized on its masthead as ''SunSentinel'') is the main daily newspaper of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, as well as surrounding Broward County and southern Palm Beach County. Tom F. Gustafson Jr. (born October 9, 1949) is an American attorney and politician, who served as Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives from 1988 to 1990. Hypoluxo is a town in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. The population was 2,588 at the 2010 census. As of 2018, the population recorded by the U.S. Census Bureau was 2,783. Hypoluxo Scrub Natural Area is a protected landscape. Etymology The origin of the name "Hypoluxo" is disputed. One theory analyzed the name as composed of the Greek root ''"hypo-"'' (under, below average) and the Latin ''"lux"'' (light). Hannibel Pierce settled on Hypoluxo Island with his family in 1873.
