Bill Grant (Gaelic Footballer)
William Grant (26 April 1891 – 8 August 1955) was an Irish Gaelic footballer. His championship career at senior level with the Tipperary county team spanned eleven years from 1915 to 1926. Grant made his debut on the inter-county scene at the age of twenty-four when he was selected for the Tipperary senior team. He made his debut during the 1915 championship. The highlight of his inter-county career came in 1920 when he won an All-Ireland medal. Grant also won three Munster medals. Tipperary County Football Team
The Tipperary county football team represents Tipperary in men's Gaelic football and is governed by Tipperary GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The team competes in the three major annual inter-county competitions; the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Munster Senior Football Championship and the National Football League. Tipperary's home ground is Semple Stadium, Thurles. The team's manager is David Power. Tipperary was the second Munster county to win an All-Ireland Senior Football Championship (SFC), as well as to appear in the final, following Limerick. Tipperary Senior Football Championship
The Tipperary Senior Football Championship is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association club competition between the top Gaelic football clubs in Tipperary. The winners of the Tipperary Championship qualify to represent their county in the Munster Senior Club Football Championship, the winners of which advance to the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship. History Over the decades, the Tipperary championship has been dominated by teams from South Tipperary, with Fethard and Clonmel Commercials leading the roll of honour, though Loughmore-Castleiney from Mid Tipperary strongly challenge and were the 2014 champions. 1920 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship
The 1920 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 34th staging of Ireland's premier Gaelic football knock-out competition. In the Leinster final Dublin ended Kildare's period as All Ireland champions. The championship was disrupted by the ongoing Irish War of Independence, including the events of Bloody Sunday in November 1920, when British forces killed fourteen people at a match between Dublin and Tipperary at Croke Park in Dublin. Because Dublin and Tipperary were the eventual finalists, it is often incorrectly assumed that this was the All-Ireland final, but it was actually a challenge match held to raise funds for the Republican Prisoners Dependents Fund. Munster Senior Football Championship
The Munster Senior Football Championship, known simply as the Munster Championship and shortened to Munster SFC, is an annual inter-county Gaelic football competition organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county Gaelic football competition in the province of Munster, and has been contested every year, bar one, since the 1888 championship. The final, currently held on the fourth Saturday in June, serves as the culmination of a series of games played during May and June, and the results determine which team receives the Munster Cup. Templemore () is a town in County Tipperary, Ireland. It is a civil parish in the historical barony of Eliogarty. It is part of the parish of Templemore, Clonmore and Killea in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cashel and Emly. The All-Ireland Senior Football Championship (SFC) ( ga, Craobh Shinsir Peile na hÉireann) is the premier competition in Gaelic football.
