Bill Gowdy
William Alexander Gowdy (24 December 1903 – 16 March 1958) was a Northern Irish footballer who played for, among others, Hull City, Sheffield Wednesday, Gateshead, Hibernian and Aldershot. He gained six caps for Ireland between 1931 and 1936. The National Archives of Ireland ( ga, Cartlann Náisiúnta na hÉireann) is the official repository for the state records of Ireland. Established by the National Archives Act 1986, taking over the functions of the State Paper Office (founded 1702) and the Public Record Office of Ireland (founded 1867).
