Bill Campbell (Australian Politician)
William Montgomery Campbell (10 June 1920 – 9 June 1996) was an Australian politician. He was educated at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and worked as a mechanical engineer and business manager. From 1945 to 1948 he was chief draftsman for Rheem Australia, and in 1948 he became the sales, works and manufacturing manager for Fischer & Porter, a scientific instrument company. The Victorian Legislative Council (VLC) is the upper house of the bicameral Parliament of Victoria, Australia, the lower house being the Legislative Assembly. Both houses sit at Parliament House in Spring Street, Melbourne. The Legislative Council serves as a house of review, in a similar fashion to its federal counterpart, the Australian Senate. Although, it is possible for legislation to be first introduced in the Council, most bills receive their first hearing in the Legislative Assembly. Sir Rupert James Hamer, (29 July 1916 – 23 March 2004), generally known until he was knighted in 1982 as Dick Hamer, was an Australian Liberal Party politician who served as the 39th Premier of Victoria from 1972 to 1981. Early years Hamer was born in Melbourne to Elizabeth Anne McLuckie and Hubert Hamer, a solicitor. Haddon Storey (born 15 May 1930) is a former Australian politician. He was born in Melbourne to Elsdon Storey, a dentist, and Gwendoline Alberta Bellett, a dental nurse. He attended Scotch College and Melbourne University, where he received a Master of Law. He was admitted as a barrister and solicitor, and practiced from 1955. He was joint editor of the Law Council of Australia's newsletter from 1963 to 1969 and lecturer at the Council of Legal Education from 1963 to 1975. He was a long-standing member of the Liberal Party and served on the state executive from 1967 to 1971. In 1971 he was elected to the Victorian Legislative Council as a member for East Yarra.
