He was granted a clearance to Yarraville in the Victoria Football Association in July 1928 but did not receive a permit to play until 1929 and he played with Yarraville until 1931. The Altona Football Club is an Australian rules football club which compete in the WRFL since 1988. The team is based in the Melbourne suburb of Altona. History Altona Football Club was established in 1918 in a Pier Street café by James Duke. Altona's nickname in the 1930s was “The Seagulls” or "The Seadogs". Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. The Hawthorn Football Club, nicknamed the Hawks, is a professional Australian rules football club based in Mulgrave, Victoria, that competes in the Australian Football League (AFL). Australian Football League
The Australian Football League (AFL) is the only fully professional competition of Australian rules football.
