Biljana Savović
Biljana Savović ( sr-Cyrl, Биљана Савовић; born 27 June 1960) is a former politician in Serbia. She served in the National Assembly of Serbia from 2014 to 2016 as a member of the Serbian Progressive Party. Early life and private career Savović is a lawyer in private life. She lives in Sečanj in Vojvodina. Politician Municipal politics Savović was elected to the Sečanj municipal assembly in the 2008 Serbian local elections on the local electoral list "For the development of the municipality of Sečanj." She was chosen as president (i.e., speaker) of the assembly after the election. She later joined the Democratic Party and served on its board for the Central Banat District. She was re-elected in the 2012 local elections and was re-appointed as speaker for the next sitting of the assembly. 2016 Serbian Local Elections
Local elections were held in most cities and municipalities of Serbia (excluding the disputed territory of Kosovo) on 24 April 2016, with repeat voting later taking place in some jurisdictions. The elections were held concurrently with the 2016 Serbian parliamentary election and the 2016 Vojvodina provincial election. Elections were not held for the City Assembly of Belgrade, as its members were elected on a different four-year cycle (although local assembly elections were held in the City of Belgrade's constituent municipalities). 2016 Serbian Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Serbia on 24 April 2016. Initially, the election were originally due to be held by March 2018, but on 17 January 2016 Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić called for a snap election claiming Serbia "needs four more years of stability so that it is ready to join the European Union". The elections were held simultaneously with provincial elections in Vojvodina and nationwide local elections. Voter turnout was 56%. Vučić's Serbian Progressive Party-led coalition retained its majority, winning 131 of the 250 seats. 2014 Serbian Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Serbia on 16 March 2014, with nineteen electoral lists competing for 250 members of the National Assembly. The election was called early, after tensions in the coalition led by the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) and Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS). Aleksandar Vučić ( sr-Cyrl, Александар Вучић, ; born 5 March 1970) is a Serbian politician serving as the president of Serbia since 2017, and as the president of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) since 2012. Vučić served as the Prime Minister of Serbia in two terms, from 2014 to 2016 and from 2016 until 2017, as well as the deputy prime minister from 2012 until 2014.
