Bob Bignall
Robert Francis "Choc" Bignall (14 March 1922 – 11 August 2013), commonly referred to as Bob Bignall, was an Australian soccer player who was the Australia captain at the 1956 Olympic Games held in Melbourne, Australia. Bignall started his career in 1939 and played over 400 matches in NSW for Corrimal Rangers, Woonona, North Shore and South Coast United as a defender before going onto represent both NSW and national sides as captain in the 1950s. He was inducted to the Football Federation of Australia Hall of Fame in 1999. Playing career Bignall played for North Shore in 1945, then the Corrimal Rangers from 1950 to 1953 and for South Coast United in 1960 and 1961. All clubs were part of the NSW Division 1. He was a small stature man that had lightning speed and tenacious will to win. Herbert Bignall
Herbert James Bignall (28 January 1906 – 30 October 1989) was a British long-distance runner. He competed in the marathon at the 1928 Summer Olympics. He also competed in the marathon at the 1930 British Empire Games for England and was a carpenter by trade. He was a torchbearer for the 1984 Summer Olympics torch relay The 1984 Summer Olympics torch relay was run from May 8 until July 28, prior to the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. The route covered around across the United States and involved over 3,600 torchbearers. The pairs C/WAD team of Kris Bignall and Tu Huyhn were ranked as the seventh best pair in the world prior to the start of the games. They surprised the world when they won a bronze medal after beating Spain and New Zealand in the preliminaries, and after beating an American pair in the bronze medal match. Their medal was the first medal Australia had won in this sport in international competition. Kris Bignall also competed as an individual in the C1 WAD category. Nicholas Bignall
Nicholas Colin Bignall (born 11 July 1990) is an English semi-professional footballer who plays as a forward. A product of the Reading academy, he played on loan for a number of Football League clubs before recurring injuries forced him to drop into non-league football. Playing career Reading A forward or left winger, Bignall began his career in the academy at Reading and scored 20 goals for the U18 during the course of his two-year scholarship. He signed a two-year professional contract ahead of the 2008–09 season and spent much of the campaign away on loan, impressing enough to sign a new two-year contract in April 2009. Simone Bignall is an Australian philosopher. She is Senior Researcher in Jumbunna Indigenous Nations and Collaborative Futures Hub at the University of Technology Sydney. Bignall completed her doctoral degree in Philosophy at the University of Sydney in 2007, supervised by Professor Moira Gatens.
