Nira Park
Nira Louise Park (born December 1967) is a British television and film producer. Life and career Park founded award-winning UK film and television production company Big Talk in 1995. She left the company in July 2018 to launch a new production company, Complete Fiction Pictures, with Edgar Wright, Joe Cornish and Rachael Prior. Park is best known for her collaborations with Edgar Wright, having produced all of his work over the past two decades; their partnership began with the award-winning television series ''Spaced''. This also marked the beginning of their long-standing collaborations with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, which continued with the cult comedy ''Shaun of the Dead'' for which Park received a BAFTA Outstanding Debut Award nomination. ''The Kid Who Would Be King'' is a 2019 fantasy action-adventure film written and directed by Joe Cornish. A British/American venture, the film stars Louis Ashbourne Serkis, Tom Taylor, Dean Chaumoo, Rhianna Doris, Angus Imrie, Rebecca Ferguson, and Patrick Stewart. The plot follows a young boy who finds King Arthur's legendary sword Excalibur and must use it to stop an ancient enchantress from enslaving the world with help from his classmates (and former bullies) from school. Distributed by 20th Century Fox, the film was released in the United States on 25 January 2019, and in the United Kingdom on 15 February 2019. Patrick Monahan (comedian)
Patrick Monahan (born 23 June 1976) is an Irish-Iranian comedian, who won the television competition series ''Take the Mike'' in 2001 and ''Show Me the Funny'' in 2011. He has performed regularly at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Monahan also holds the world record for "Longest Hug" at a time of 25 hours and 25 minutes, alongside fellow comedian Bob Slayer. They set this record at Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2013. Background Monahan's father was an Irish welder, who met Monahan's mother in a bank in Ahvaz, Iran prior to the Iranian Revolution, where Monhen was born. When he was 3 he and his parents and siblings had to leave the country during the '79 revolution, in company with his brother and sister, the three-year-old Monahan had to pose as his grandparents' son, because only one boy per couple could leave the country. ''Show Me the Funny'' is a British reality show in which a group of ten comedians of varying experience visit ten different cities around the UK, performing tasks that are somehow meant to equip them with local knowledge to work into five-minute-long new live routines, which they then showcase in front of a live audience. At the end of each show, one contestant was voted off by the judging panel of Alan Davies, Kate Copstick and a different guest judge in each city, with a live final at the Hammersmith Apollo on 25 August 2011.
