McGruff (rapper)
Herbert Brown, better known by his stage name McGruff (also known as Herb McGruff) is an American Hip hop recording artist from Harlem, New York City, New York. Career Brown started rapping in his early teens. He embarked on his music career in the hip hop group Bronx Most Wanted, alongside rappers Jay Q and Tee U.B. Brown later became a member of the hip hop collective Children of the Corn. As a member of Children of the Corn, Brown worked alongside Big L, Cam'ron, Bloodshed and Mase, all of whom would go on to have successful careers in the music industry. After the group disbanded without releasing any material, Brown made his first appearance on Big L's debut album, ''Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous'' (1995), on the tracks "8 Iz Enuff" and "Danger Zone". ''Waterbed Hev'' is the first solo album and sixth album overall by rapper Heavy D. The album was released on April 22, 1997 for Uptown Records and was produced by Heavy D, DJ Battle Cat and Tony Dofat. This marked Heavy D's first album without "The Boyz", Eddie F, DJ Eddie F and G-Wiz. Waterbed Hev made it to #9 on the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200 and #3 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, going gold in the process. Heavy D and the Boyz version American group Heavy D & the Boyz released their very successful dance/ house-cover of "Now That We Found Love" in 1991. It was produced by Teddy Riley and remains their biggest hit. The song was released as the second single from their third album, ''Peaceful Journey'' (1991), and peaked at number two in the UK and number 11 in the US. Critical reception Jesse Ducker from Albumism described the song as "a catchy and extremely successful pairing with producer Riley, featuring Aaron Hall’s powerful vocals on the chorus.
