Making his debut in 1972, he first found success with the hardboiled detective manga series ''Doberman Deka'' (1975–1979) alongside illustrator Shinji Hiramatsu. Oishinbo
is a long-running Japanese cooking manga series written by and drawn by . The manga's title is a portmanteau of the Japanese word for delicious, ''oishii'', and the word for someone who loves to eat, ''kuishinbo''. The series depicts the adventures of culinary journalist Shirō Yamaoka and his partner (and later wife), Yūko Kurita. Weekly Young Sunday
was a weekly manga magazine published by Shogakukan in Japan since the first issue on March 27, 1987. It replaced ''Shōnen Big Comic'' in Shogakukan's lineup of shōnen titles, and many of the titles in ''Shōnen Big Comic'' were continued in ''Young Sunday''. The magazines was sometimes called for short. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of ''Weekly Young Sunday'', Shogakukan and Yahoo! Auctions Japan held a charity auction benefitting the Green Cross Japan. Various manga artists donated signed original artwork, and Shogakukan donated rare goods related to the series and people appearing in the magazine. On May 30, 2008, Shogakukan announced that they would cease publication of the magazine. The final issue was released on July 31, 2008. Mogura No Uta
is a Japanese manga series written by Noboru Takahashi. It was serialized in Shogakukan's ''Weekly Young Sunday'' from 2005 to 2008, and transferred to ''Big Comic Spirits'' in 2008. It has been adapted into a live-action film, titled ''The Mole Song: Undercover Agent Reiji'' in 2013, which was followed by a sequel, ''The Mole Song: Hong Kong Capriccio'', released in 2016. As of March 2022, the manga had over 9.6 million copies in circulation. In 2014, ''Mogura no Uta'' won the 59th Shogakukan Manga Award in the General category.
