Bidar taluka is one of the eight talukas of Bidar district Bidar district is the northernmost part of the Karnataka state in India. The administrative headquarters of district is Bidar city. Geographically, it resembles the "Crown of the State", occupying its northeastern end. It is bounded by Kamared .... Its administrative headquarters is in the town of Bidar, along with the district's headquarters. The major river is the Manjira which forms the northern border of the taluka. As of 2008, of the land was under cultivation in the taluka, of that 19% or was irrigated. Irrigation is 52% from dug wells, 44% from bore holes, and the rest from is mostly from tanks (reservoir ponds) and lift irrigation from the Manjira. A tehsil (, also known as tahsil, taluka, or taluk) is a local unit of administrative division in some countries of South Asia. It is a subdistrict of the area within a district including the designated populated place that serves as its administrative centre, with possible additional towns, and usually a number of villages. Manjira River
The Manjara, also spelled Manjara or Manjeera, is a tributary of the river Godavari. It passes through the states of Maharashtra, Karnataka and Telangana. It originates in the Balaghat range of hills near Ahmednagar district at an altitude of 823 metres (2,700 ft) and empties into the Godavari River. It has a total catchment area of . Panchayat samiti is a rural local government (panchayat) body at the intermediate tehsil (taluka/mandal) level in India. Rahim Khan (politician)
Rahim Khan (born 1 May 1966) is an Indian politician from Karnataka. He is a three-time MLA and he served as a Cabinet Minister in the Government of Karnataka and as a Member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly representing Bidar. He was the Minister of State for Youth Empowerment and Sports of Karnataka from 22 December 2018 to 8 July 2019. Career Khan is a three-time MLA from Bidar Constituency.
