Bibliography Of Music Literature
The Bibliography of Music Literature (BMS or BMS online, german: Bibliographie des Musikschrifttums) is an international bibliography of literature on music. It considers all kind of music and includes both current and older literature. Since 1968, the BMS editorial staff has also been working as the German committee for the Répertoire International de Littérature Musicale (RILM). The bibliography includes monographs, master’s theses and doctoral dissertations, articles and reviews from journals, Festschriften, Proceedings, conference proceedings, yearbooks, Anthology, anthologies, and essays from critical reports. It contains Printing, printed media as well as Electronic publishing, online resources, data media, sound recordings, audiovisual media, and microforms. A logo (abbreviation of logotype; ) is a graphic mark, emblem, or symbol used to aid and promote public identification and recognition. It may be of an abstract or figurative design or include the text of the name it represents as in a wordmark. In the days of hot metal typesetting, a logotype was one word cast as a single piece of type (e.g. "The" in ATF Garamond), as opposed to a Typographic ligature, ligature, which is two or more letters joined, but not forming a word. A bibliographic record is an entry in a bibliographic index (or a library catalog) which represents and describes a specific resource. Wolfgang Schmieder (May 29, 1901 – November 8, 1990) was a German music librarian and musicologist. Schmieder was born in Bromberg (now Bydgoszcz, Poland).Eggebrecht, Hans. "Wolfgang Schmieder". Friedrich Hofmeister Musikverlag (abbreviated to Hofmeister) is a publisher of classical music, founded by Friedrich Hofmeister in Leipzig in 1807. Georg Karstädt
The Buxtehude-Werke-Verzeichnis ("Buxtehude Works Catalogue", commonly abbreviated to BuxWV) is the catalogue and the numbering system used to identify musical works by the German-Danish Baroque composer Dieterich Buxtehude (c. 1637 – 9 May 1707). It was compiled by Georg Karstädt and published in 1974 as ''Thematisch-Systematisches Verzeichnis der Musikalischen Werke von Dietrich Buxtehude''. The second edition, published in 1985, contains minor additions and corrections. The catalogue is organized thematically, not chronologically, and contains 275 individual pieces. The ''Anhang'' ("Appendix") adds 13 spurious and falsely attributed works. The fourteen trio sonatas (BuxWV 252–265) were the only works published during Buxtehude's lifetime. The State Institute for Music Research (german: Staatliches Institut für Musikforschung or ''SIMPK'') is a musicological research facility in Berlin, Germany for the study of Musical Instruments, Music History, Music Theory and Music technology.
