Biathlon World Championships 2024 – Men's Sprint
The Men's sprint competition at the Biathlon World Championships 2024 was held on 10 February 2024. Johannes Thingnes Bø was the defending champion but he did not defend her title, finishing the competition in 2nd place. Sturla Holm Lægreid from Norway became the new world champion after winning her third individual gold medal. Jakov Fak (born 1 August 1987) is a Slovenian Biathlon, biathlete of Croats, Croat origin competing for Slovenia since 2010. As a member of the Croatian biathlon team, Fak won bronze medals at the Biathlon World Championships 2009, 2009 World Championships and at the 2010 Winter Olympics, where he was also the Croatian flag bearer at the opening ceremony. In 2010, Fak switched his citizenship and started competing for Slovenia. Fabien Claude (born 22 December 1994) is a French biathlete. Career His first year in biathlon was 2006. He made his international debut in 2011. He won the Junior Men's pursuit and placed 2nd with the French relay team at the Biathlon Junior World Championships 2014. He was part of the French relay team that achieved 3rd place in the relay in Hochfilzen during the 2019–20 season. Viktor Jonas Brandt (born 8 July 1999) is a Swedish biathlete. He is the 2024 World Champion in the Men's Relay. Career Viktor Brandt competed in the Youth World Championships for the first time in 2017, but did not achieve any special results. He took part in the season highlight every year in the following years until 2021, but did not compete at senior level. However, the races at junior level were rarely successful for Brandt, only achieving a result in the top 30 in 2021 with 26th place in the sprint at the Junior World Championships. Dmytro Pidruchnyi (; born 5 November 1991) is a Ukrainian biathlete. He participated at 2014 and 2018 Winter Olympics. In March 2022, Pidruchnyi joined the Ukrainian National Guard to fight during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. Career Pidruchnyi was born in village Ostriv near Ternopil.
