Pokljuka
The Pokljuka Plateau () is a forested karst plateau at an elevation of around , located in the Julian Alps in northwestern Slovenia. The plateau is known for its forests, mountain pastures (Javornik, Lipanca, Uskovnica, Zajamniki, etc.), and winter sports facilities. It is also a common starting point for mountain hikers. The yearly Biathlon World Cup meets are held at the Pokljuka Biathlon Center, west of the town of Bled ( by car). Pokljuka is part of Triglav National Park. Administratively, it belongs to the municipalities of Bled, Bohinj, and Gorje. Many beech and fir trees were chopped down in the 18th century for the iron foundries in Bohinj. Alexander Loginov (biathlon)
Alexandr Viktorovich Loginov (russian: Александр Викторович Логинов; born 31 January 1992) is a Russian biathlete. He began his career in 2004. Career Loginov started professional in the late 2012–13 season, taking bronze medal in pursuit in Holmenkollen and gold as part of the relay team in Sochi. Loginov was provisionally suspended by IBU 25 November 2014, after re-testing of a sample of his from 26 November 2013 showed he'd been doping with EPO. All his results from 26 November 2013 onwards were annulled, and he was handed a two-year ban from sports. The ban ended 25 November 2016. Loginov returned to sport in the 2016–17 season, winning bronze with his relay team at the Biathlon World Championships 2017. In the next season, Loginov while failing to finish in the top 3 progressed, finishing 23rd in the overall standings. Dmytro Pidruchnyi ( uk, Дмитро Підручний; born 5 November 1991) is a Ukrainian biathlete. He participated at 2014 and 2018 Winter Olympics. In March 2022, Pidruchnyi joined the Ukrainian National Guard to fight during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. Career Pidruchnyi was born in village Ostriv near Ternopil. Dmytro's first international competition was 2010 Junior World Championships in Swedish Torsby. He didn't have much success then. He also wasn't very successful next season. But at 2012 Junior Worlds in Kontiolahti he finally showed good results which allowed him to start in IBU Cup and debut in World Cup. On 13 December 2012, he was with 6 misses just 98th in Pokljuka, Slovenia. Nevertheless he competed some more sprints that season. His performances improved in 2013–14 season. Florent Claude (born 11 November 1991) is a French-born Belgian biathlete. Biography Florent Claude is originally a French biathlete, born in Remiremont, in the Vosges, in 1991. He has a Master in physical training from the Université Grenoble Alpes. Due to a lack of chances to compete at the highest biathlon level in France, he relocated to Belgium, where he formed a team with Michael Rösch, another naturalized experienced biathlete (Olympic gold medal in the relay in 2006 with Germany). In June 2017 Claude acquired the Belgian nationality. His brothers Fabien Claude and Emilien Claude are also biathletes and compete for France. Artem Pryma ( uk, Артем Прима, born 30 May 1987, Chernihiv, Ukrainian SSR) is a Ukrainian World Cup level biathlete. He participated at 2014 and 2018 Winter Olympics. Career Pryma began competing internationally in 2006 but only participated in junior competitions. He debuted at World Cup on 14 January 2010, in German Ruhpolding, where he was 41st in the sprint. Then he started in relay together with his brother Roman but Roman screwed it up and had a penalty loop. The team finished 12th in that race. His first World Cup points he earned next year. At 2011 World Championships he was 25th in individual race. At 2011 Winter Universiade in Erzurum, Turkey, he won four medals, including two gold. Christian Gow (born March 28, 1993) is a former Canadian biathlete. Gow is the younger brother of Canadian biathlete Scott Gow, competing alongside each other representing Canada at World Championships and both the 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympics.
