Kontiolahti ( sv, Kontiolax; literally meaning "bear bay") is a municipality of Finland. It is located in the North Karelia region, about north of Joensuu. Ondřej Moravec (; born 9 June 1984) is a former Czech biathlete. Life and career Moravec represented the Czech Republic at the 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018. Michal Krčmář
Michal Krčmář (; born 23 January 1991) is a Czech biathlete and an Olympic silver medalist in the sprint at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. He was a part of the silver junior men's relay at Biathlon Junior World Championships 2012. Since 2013–14 season he has competed regularly at Biathlon World Cup and has amassed 300 World Cup Starts. He has competed at eight World Championships and three Olympic Games, including the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, and the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. Dominik Landertinger (; born 13 March 1988) is a retired Austrian biathlete. Life and career Landertinger debuted in the 2007–08 season, and his big breakthrough came during the 2008–09 season, where he, as of 22 March 2015, has fourteen podium finishes, including a gold medal in the 15 km mass start at the 2009 World Championships in Pyeongchang and a win in the 15 km mass start in Khanty-Mansiysk at the last round of the 2009–10 season. Simon Eder (born 23 February 1983) is an Austrian biathlete. Career His first World Cup win was in the Khanty-Mansiysk mass-start race on 29 March 2009. Eder represented Austria at the 2010 Winter Olympics and in 2014 Winter Olympics. He won 2 medals: silver in the Men's relay in 2010, and a bronze in Men's relay in 2014. Daniel Mesotitsch
Daniel Mesotitsch (born 22 May 1976) is an Austrian former biathlete. Career Mesotitsch originally competed in cross-country skiing. However, in 1997 he was injured in a car crash and took up shooting during his recovery when he was unable to undertake ski training. He subsequently switched to biathlon. He has competed in four Winter Olympics, in 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2014. He won 2 medals: silver in the Men's relay in 2010, and a bronze in Men's relay in 2014. Both of the relays together with Dominik Landertinger, Simon Eder and Christoph Sumann. He was named Sportsman of the Year in 2011 in his home state of Carinthia. Mesotitsch announced on 22 March 2019 that he would retire from the sport on 26 March 2019 after the Austrian Championships. Anton Vladimirovich Shipulin (russian: Антон Владимирович Шипулин; born 21 August 1987) is a retired Russian biathlete and politician serving as the member of the State Duma since 2019.
