Rasen-Antholz
Rasen-Antholz (; it, Rasun-Anterselva ) is a municipality in South Tyrol in northern Italy. Geography The municipal area stretches along the Antholz valley, a northern side valley of the larger Puster Valley. In the northeast, the Staller Saddle mountain pass, at a height of leads into the Defereggen Valley in East Tyrol, Austria. The Antholz valley is confined by the mountains of the Rieserferner Group in the north and the Villgraten Mountains in the east, both part of the High Tauern range in the Central Eastern Alps. Notable peaks include the Hochgall, at , and the Wildgall (Collaspro), at , as well as the Ohrenspitzen massif, at , in the northeast. Frode Andresen
Frode Andresen (born 9 September 1973) is a former Norwegian biathlete and cross-country skier. Early life Andresen was born in the Netherlands, and lived one year each in Cape Town, South Africa; Lagos, Nigeria; and Nairobi, Kenya, because of his parents' careers. They settled in Norway when Frode was four, and a year later he learnt to cross-country ski, taking up biathlon when he was twelve. Biathlon career Andresen started competing in 1985 and has 15 World cup victories. In all Andresen had 47 podium finishes, 15 1st (including three wins at the Holmenkollen ski festival biathlon competition with two sprint wins (2000, 2001) and one pursuit (2001)), 15 2nd and 17 3rd places. Kati Wilhelm
Kati Wilhelm (; born 2 August 1976 in Schmalkalden) is a German former professional biathlete. Like most German biathletes she is also a member of the German Armed Forces (''Bundeswehr'') with the rank of master sergeant (''Hauptfeldwebel''). Wilhelm resides in Steinbach-Hallenberg, in the Federal State of Thuringia. Career Wilhelm was born in Schmalkalden, then East Germany (now in the Federal State of Thuringia, Germany). She started training cross-country skiing as a child in 1983 and was a member of the German cross-country ski team at the 1998 Nagano Olympic Games. In 1999, while attending the Military World Games, she came into contact with biathlon and was hooked on the sport. Her decision to switch to biathlon proved to be a good one. Andrea Henkel
Andrea Burke, née Henkel (born 10 December 1977) is a retired Germany, German professional biathlon, biathlete and the younger sister of Manuela Henkel, a successful Cross-country skiing (sport), cross-country skier. She trained at SV Großbreitenbach. Andrea Henkel started out as a cross-country skier but later specialised in biathlon when women's biathlon became an Olympic sport. Since the 1998/99 season, she was a regular member of the German team in the Biathlon World Cup. After several top-ten results, she could win her first World Cup event in 1999, her second year. She was most successful in the 2006/07 season, which she finished first in the overall standings. Martina Beck
Martina "Molly" Beck (born Martina Glagow; 21 September 1979 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, West Germany) is a retired German biathlete. She now lives in Mittenwald in Bavaria. She was most successful in the 2002–03 season, when she was the first German to win the women's overall Biathlon World Cup. She is also a three-times world champion and three-times Olympic silver medalist. She married the Austrian biathlete Günther Beck on 24 July 2008 and is now known as Martina Beck. She has one daughter named Hilde (born 1 April 2011). Florence Baverel-Robert
Florence Baverel (born 24 May 1974 in Pontarlier, Doubs), is a retired French biathlete who competed in the biathlon at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy. Baverel-Robert won the gold medal in the women's 7.5 km sprint. She placed 26th in the women's 15 km individual event, 5th in the 12.5 km mass start and 13th in the 10 km pursuit final. She married fellow French biathlete Julien Robert. They have one daughter Rose. Now they are divorced. Linda Grubben (née Linda Tjørhom; 13 September 1979 in Stavanger) is a retired Norwegian biathlete. She won a silver medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics in the 4 × 7.5 km relay, while winning the gold medal at the Biathlon World Championships 2004 in Oberhof, 2004. Individually, she won the bronze medal at the 15 km of the Biathlon World Championship 2005 in Hochfilzen. Natalia Vladimirovna Guseva née Sorokina (russian: Ната́лья Влади́мировна Гу́сева; born 12 September 1982 in Tikhvin, Russian SFSR) is a Russian female biathlete who lives in Saint Petersburg. Anna Carin Helena Cecilia Zidek (née Olofsson, born 1 April 1973) is a Swedish former biathlete who won a silver medal in the 7.5 km sprint and a gold medal in the 12.5 km mass start event at the 2006 Winter Olympics. Magdalena "Lena" Neuner (; since her 2014 marriage legally Magdalena Holzer; born 9 February 1987) is a retired German professional biathlete. She is the most successful woman of all time at Biathlon World Championships and a two-time Olympic gold medalist. At the age of 21, she became the youngest Overall World Cup winner in the history of the International Biathlon Union (IBU). Andreas Birnbacher
Andreas Birnbacher (born 11 September 1981) is a former German biathlete. His biggest successes were the silver medal in the mass start event at the 2007 World Championships and the gold medal in the mixed relay at the 2008 World Championships. He also won the bronze medal at the 2012 world championships in Ruhpolding when he was part of the German teams that finished third in the mixed relay and the men's relay.
