Bianca Reddy
Bianca Reddy (born 21 December 1982) is a former Australian netball player who played for the Adelaide Thunderbirds. In 2010, Reddy did not play in the ANZ Championship, but played for the West Coast Fever replacing the injured Josie Janz. Biography Her brothers are Perth Glory goalkeeper Liam Reddy, former Parramatta Eels, Wests Tigers, and South Sydney Rabbitohs Rugby League back Joel Reddy, and is the daughter of Australian Rugby League international and St George Dragons forward Rod Reddy. Reddy previously worked at Blackwood High School as a netball teacher for the special interest netball program. Currently, she is a science teacher at Mitcham Girls High School. Reddy (also transliterated as ''Raddi'', ''Reddi'', ''Reddiar'', ''Reddappa'', ''Reddy'') is a caste that originated in India, predominantly settled in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. They are classified as a forward caste. The origin of the Reddy has been linked to the Rashtrakutas, although opinions vary. They were feudal overlords and peasant proprietors. Historically they have been the land-owning aristocracy of the villages. Traditionally, they were a diverse community of merchants and cultivators. Netball is a ball sport played on a court by two teams of seven players. It is among a rare number of sports which have been created exclusively for female competitors. The sport is played on indoor and outdoor netball courts and is specifically played in schools. Netball is most popularly played in Commonwealth nations. A common misunderstanding of the sport's origins has resulted in the mistaken belief that netball was created to prevent women from playing basketball. However, the sport is the result of Clara Baer's misinterpretation of its rules.
