Bhotekoshi
Bhotekoshi ( ne, भोटेकोशी गाउँपालिका) is a rural municipality located in Sindhupalchok District of Bagmati Province in Nepal. Sindhupalchok district is divided into twelve local level units, in which three units are urban municipality and nine are rural municipality and Bhotekoshi is one of rural municipalities out of nine. It is located near the border of Tibet-China on Himalayan range. It is surrounded by Dolakha District in east, Bahrabise in south and Jugal Rural Municipality, Jugal in west. Tibet is located on the north side of the rural municipality. Total area of the rural municipality is and total population is 19231 individuals. The rural municipality was formed on 10 March 2017, when Government of Nepal announced 753 local level units as per the new constitution of Nepal 2015. thus the rural municipality came into existence. Kodari
Kodari is a small village located at the border with Tibet-China. The village is located at the end–point of the Arniko Highway, which connects Kodari with the capital city of Kathmandu. Kathmandu is away from Kodari. Kodari is a major border crossing from Nepal into the Tibet Autonomous Region. Kodari is a part of Bhotekoshi rural municipality in Sindhupalchok District of Bagmati Province (previously Tatopani VDC of Bagmati Zone of Central Development Region; from 1990–2017). A gaunpalika ( ne, गाउँपालिका, lit=rural municipality, translit=Gāum̐pālikā ) is an administrative division in Nepal. The Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development dissolved the existing village development committees and announced the establishment of this new local body. It is a sub-unit of a district. There are currently 460 rural municipalities. History The village development committee was the previous governing body of villages in Nepal. They were replaced on 10 May 2017 by the rural municipalities which were formed by combining different VDCs. Arniko Highway
The Araniko Highway () connects Kathmandu with Kodari, northeast of the Kathmandu Valley, on the Nepal-China border. It is among the most dangerous of highways in Nepal due to extremely steep slopes on each side of the road from Barabise onwards; massive landslides and bus plunges are not uncommon, especially after rains. At the Sino-Nepal Friendship Bridge, it connects with China National Highway 318 to Lhasa, and eventually to Shanghai. History The road was built in the 1960s with help from the Chinese on an older yak track. They also planned to expand the road in 2012, but keeping the route open was made more difficult by landslides from monsoons. Tatopani ( ne, तातोपानी) is a village in Sindhupalchok District in the Bagmati Zone of central Nepal.
