Bhola District ( bn, ভোলা) is an administrative district (''zila'') in south-central Bangladesh, which includes Bhola Island, the largest island of Bangladesh. It is located in the Barisal Division and has an area of 3403.48 km2. It is bounded by Lakshmipur and Barisal District to the north, the Bay of Bengal to the south, by Lakshmipur and Noakhali districts, the (lower) Meghna river and Shahbazpur Channel to the east, and by Patuakhali District and the Tetulia river to the west. Bhola Sadar ( bn, ভোলা সদর) is an upazila of Bhola District in the Division of Barisal, Bangladesh. Geography Bhola Sadar is located at . It has a total area of . Demographics According to the 2011 Bangladesh census, Bhola Sadar Upazila had 88,068 households and a population of 430,520, 20.3% of whom lived in urban areas. 11.8% of the population was under the age of 5. The literacy rate (age 7 and over) was 45.2%, compared to the national average of 51.8%. Bhola Island
Bhola Island (also called Dakhin Shahbazpur) is the largest island of Bangladesh with an area of 1,441 km2. It is most of the land area of Bhola District in Barisal Division. Geography It is situated at the mouth of the Meghna River. There are ferry and launch services from Dhaka and Barisal. The Island is long and has a population of 1.7 million. A 1776 map indicates that it was oval-shaped yet it is currently more elongated because of erosion by the Meghna River. It is only above ocean level at the most elevated point. Due to its low elevation, large parts of the island have already been inundated by sea level rise, and the island is at serious risk of disappearing entirely. Culture According to the 2011 census, 96.7% are Muslim, 3.3% are Hindu. Bhola Island is known for its Buffalo curd (doi) which is unique in Bangladesh. Bhola (town)
Bhola ( bn, ভোলা) is a town and district headquarter of Bhola District in the Barishal Division, division of Barishal, Bangladesh. Administration Bhola sub-division was established under the Noakhali district in 1845. At that time its administrative center was at Amania of Daulatkhan. The sub-division was included in the Barisal district in 1869. The sub-division then consisted of Daulatkhan and Burhanuddin Hat Thanas and three outposts such as Taltali, Gazipur, and Tazumuddin. The sub-divisional headquarters was shifted from Daulatkhan to Bhola in 1876. It was elevated to a district on 1 February 1984.

''Bhola Shankar'' is an upcoming Indian Telugu-language masala action comedy film directed by Meher Ramesh. An official remake of the 2015 Tamil film ''Vedalam'', it stars Chiranjeevi as the titular character with Tamannaah and Keerthy Suresh. ''Bhola Shankar'' is scheduled for a theatrical release on 14 April 2023. Cast Production Initially, Sai Pallavi was approached for Chiranjeevi's sister role in the film but she rejected due to creative differences. Keerthy Suresh was cast in her place. Music director Mani Sharma's son Mahati Swara Sagar was signed onto this film as the composer. Bhola Prasad (born 3 February 1987) is a retired Indian professional footballer who played as a midfielder. During his career, he played professionally for East Bengal, Tollygunge Agragami, Mahindra United, ONGC, HAL, and Rangdajied United. Club career Prasad began his career with the Tata Football Academy before moving to National Football League side East Bengal in 2004. After spending a season with East Bengal, Prasad moved to Tollygunge Agragami where he played for the club in both the National Football League and the Calcutta Football League. While with Tollygunge Agragami, Prasad was selected for the under-21 West Bengal side that participated in the Dutta Ray Trophy in 2006.
