Bhimsen Ko Antya
''Bhimsen Ko Antya'' () is a Nepali play by Balkrishna Sama. It was published in 1972 by Sajha Prakashan. Sama is considered as one of the most foremost Nepalese playwright. He was awarded with the title ''Natya Siromani'' (Crest jewel of playwright). He received the prestigious Sajha Puraskar for this work. Synopsis The play is divided into eight acts. The book is based on the later life of the first prime minister of modern Nepal, Bhimsen Thapa. The end days of Thapa consisted of lots of struggle. He was falsely imprisoned by various conspiracies by the other courtiers in the Durbar. Balkrishna Sama
Balkrishna Shamsher Jang Bahadur Rana or Bala Krishna Sama ( ne, :ne: बालकृष्ण सम, बालकृष्ण सम; 8 February 1903 - 20 June 1981) was a Nepalis, Nepalese dramatist. For his great contributions to Nepali literature, he was awarded the title ''Natya Siromani'' (Crest-jewel of playwright). He is considered as one of the trimurti (trinity) of Nepali literature alongside Laxmi Prasad Devkota and Lekhnath Paudyal. He is often called the "William Shakespeare, Shakespeare" of Nepal. Personal life He was born on February 8, 1903 to General Samar Shumsher Jung Bahadur Rana and Kirtirajyalaksmi Rana in Gyaneshwar, Kathmandu. He married Mandakini in 1921. Sama was awarded with the Tribhuwan Puraskar from Nepal Rajakiya Pragya Prathistan in 1972. Sajha Prakashan
Sajha Publications ( ne, साझा प्रकाशन, lit=Common Publication, translit=Sajha Prakashan) is the oldest publishing house of Nepal. It was established in 1913 and is funded by the Government of Nepal. Headquartered in Lalitpur, it has regional branches in Biratnagar, Pokhara, Nepalgunj and Dhangadi. Litterateur and former bureaucrat Prahlad Pokhrel is the general manager of the publishing house. History Sajha Publications was established in 1913 (1970 BS) by the then prime minister of Nepal, Chandra Shumsher as ''Gorkha Bhasa Prakashani Samiti'' (Gorkha Language Publishing Committee). Bhimsen Thapa
Bhimsen Thapa ( ne, भीमसेन थापा (August 1775 – 29 July 1839)) was a Nepalese statesman who served as the ''Mukhtiyar'' (equivalent to prime minister) and de facto ruler of Nepal from 1806 to 1837. He is widely known as the longest serving Prime Minister of Nepal and was inducted into the "National heroes of Nepal" by King Mahendra Bir Bikram Shah. Born in an ordinary military family of the Gorkha Kingdom, Bhimsen first came close to the Crown Prince Rana Bahadur Shah at an early age in 1785. In 1798, he was recruited as bodyguard to the King by his father. Thereafter, he rose to influence after helping the exiled ex-King Rana Bahadur Shah engineer his return to power in 1804. In gratitude, Rana Bahadur made Bhimsen a '' Kaji'' (equivalent to a minister) of the newly formed government. ''Baikuntha Express'' (Nepali:वैकुण्ठ एक्सप्रेस) is a play written by Mohan Raj Sharma . It was published in 1985 by Sajha Prakashan. The book was awarded Madan Puraskar in 2042 BS. Synopsis The play portrays a story of a travel in a mini bus. The bus has a driver, a helper and 17 passengers, and it is going to ''Baikuntha'' (the paradise). ''Yajnaseni'' ( ne, :ne:याज्ञसेनी; is a play in Nepali by Suman Pokhrel. The play is based on the Sanskrit epic The Mahabharata and Odia novel '' Yajnaseni'' by Pratibha Ray.
