Bhikhna Thori railway station (भिखना ठोरी रेलवे स्टेशन) is a small terminus railway station on Narkatiaganj–Bhikhna Thori branch line in West Champaran district, Bihar. Its code is BKF. It serves Bhikhna Thori village. The station consists of two platforms. Bhikhna Thori is terminal station before the Indo-Nepal border. It is connected with the Gorakhpur–Narkatiaganj–Raxaul rail line at . Gauge conversion Presently services are suspended on this 36 km line since 2015, as it is undergoing gauge conversion, from metre to broad gauge. It is expected that the first stretch between and (13 km) to be completed in March 2020 and by June 2020, up to (23 km). Raxaul Junction Railway Station
Raxaul Junction railway station is a main railway station in East Champaran district, Bihar. Its code is RXL. It serves Raxaul city and also as gateway to Nepal as the most important station on the Indo-Nepal border. The station consists of five platforms. History Raxaul–Amlekhganj line was constructed in 1927. It was Nepal's first railway line. Narrow-gauge line of 48 km was closed in 1965 as new line was constructed to Inland Container Depot at Sirsiya near Birgunj and was opened in 2005. Lines and location The station is situated on the Delhi–Gorakhpur–Raxaul–Muzaffarpur–Kolkata lines. Earlier, all tracks were metre gauge but most have been converted to broad gauge. Bettiah
Bettiah is a city and administrative headquarters of West Champaran district ( Tirhut Division) - (Tirhut), near Indo-Nepal border, north-west of Patna, in Bihar state of India. History In 1244 A.D., Gangeshwar Dev, a Bhumihar Brahmin of "Jaitharia" clan, settled at Jaithar in Champaran. One of his descendants, Agar Sen, acquired large territory in the reign of Emperor Jehangir and was bestowed the title of 'Raja' by Emperor Shah Jahan. In 1659, he was succeeded by his son Raja Guj Singh, who built the palace of the family at Bettiah. He died in 1694 A.D. The palace stands today but serves as marketplace. The Barauni–Gorakhpur, Raxaul and Jainagar lines are a set of three lines connecting Barauni in the Indian state of Bihar with Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh. The lines run in an east–west direction between the Ganges and India-Nepal border, covering northern Bihar west of the Kosi river and eastern Uttar Pradesh.
