Bhāskara I
Bhāskara () (commonly called Bhāskara I to avoid confusion with the 12th-century mathematician Bhāskara II) was a 7th-century Indian mathematician and astronomer who was the first to write numbers in the Hindu–Arabic decimal system with a circle for the zero, and who gave a unique and remarkable rational approximation of the sine function in his commentary on Aryabhata's work. This commentary, ''Āryabhaṭīyabhāṣya'', written in 629 CE, is among the oldest known prose works in Sanskrit on mathematics and astronomy. He also wrote two astronomical works in the line of Aryabhata's school: the ''Mahābhāskarīya'' (“Great Book of Bhaskara”) and the ''Laghubhāskarīya'' (“Small Book of Bhaskara”). Vijaya Bhaskar ( kan, ವಿಜಯಭಾಸ್ಕರ್; 1924–2002) was an Indian music director and composer who composed music for several mainstream and experimental feature films in the Kannada film industry. Scoring music for over 600 feature films, Bhaskar worked in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi, Tulu and Konkani language films as well. Bhaskar Ramchandra Tambe (Devanagari: भास्कर रामचंद्र तांबे) (1873–1941) was a Marathi poet from Maharashtra, India. Tambe was born on October 27, 1873 in the town of Mugawali near Gwalior. In 1893, he passed his high school matriculation examination conducted by Allahabad University. He then started his college education in Agra; however, he terminated it without graduating in order to support his brother's education by accepting a position as a teacher in the princely state of Dewas. Subsequently, he acquired the position of the tutor for the young prince of Dewas. This appointment fortuitously provided him easy access to the ruler's personal library. A few years later, he became the personal secretary for the Dewas ruler. Still later, he served for some years as a judge in a small town.
