Beșghioz ( gag, Beşgöz) is a commune and village in the Gagauz Autonomous Territorial Unit of the Republic of Moldova. The 2004 census listed the commune as having a population of 3,391 people.''Statistica Moldovei''.. Accessed March 8, 2009. 93% of its population are Gagauz people, Gagauz. Minorities included 76 Russians, 66 Bulgarians, and 46 Moldovans. Its geographical coordinates are 46° 7' 18" North, 28° 52' 20" East. Mihail Formuzal
Mihail Formuzal (russian: Михаил Формузал; born 7 November 1959, in Beșghioz) is a Moldovan politician of Gagauz ethnicity, who was Governor (Başkan) of the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia (Gagauz Yeri) from December 2006 to March 2015. Biography Mihail Formuzal was born on 7 November 1959 in Beșghioz, Ceadîr-Lunga District (now Gagauzia), Moldovan SSR, USSR, in a large family of peasants. After graduating from elementary schools (1966-1977) of his native village, in 1977 he was enrolled in the military service, within the USSR's military-maritime fleet. In 1979, he joined the "M.V. Frunze" Upper Artillery Military School in the Odessa (Ukrainian SSR) and graduated it in 1983. He then worked for the USSR's armed forces in various leading positions and in the November 1994, he resigned having the military rank of major.
