Beyond The Rockies (1932 Film)
''Beyond the Rockies'' is a 1932 American pre-Code Western film directed by Fred Allen and written by Oliver Drake. The film stars Tom Keene, Rochelle Hudson, Marie Wells, Julian Rivero and Ernie Adams. The film was released on July 8, 1932, by RKO Pictures. Plot Noted gunman Black Jack and his friends arrive and take jobs on the Allen ranch. Allen's hands have quit and his cattle are being rustled. When one of Black Jack's friends is killed by the rustlers, he finds the killer and when they fight his Marshal's badge drops out and Ruby, the leader of the rustlers, picks it up. With his identity now known she sets a trap for him. Fred Allen (film Editor)
Fred Allen (December 16, 1896 – May 22, 1955) was an American film editor, and occasional director and writer. Born in Petaluma, California, Allen was active from 1921 through 1955, and is credited with editing over 100 movies. In silent films, he worked with Mack Sennett and Thomas H. Ince, and appears to be most active at Republic Pictures and RKO Radio Pictures. His seven directorial credits are all Westerns. RKO Radio Pictures Inc., commonly known as RKO Pictures or simply RKO, was an American film production and distribution company, one of the "Big Five" film studios of Hollywood's Golden Age. The business was formed after the Keith-Albee-Orpheum (KAO) theater chain and Joseph P. Kennedy's Film Booking Offices of America (FBO) studio were brought together under the control of the Radio Corporation of America (RCA) in October 1928. RCA chief David Sarnoff engineered the merger to create a market for the company's sound-on-film technology, RCA Photophone, and in early 1929 production began under the RKO name (an abbreviation of Radio-Keith-Orpheum). Richard Theodore Adams (March 17, 1890 – September 24, 1973) was an American film actor who appeared in nearly 200 films between 1926 and 1952. Early life Adams was born in New York City. He appeared with his parents in their vaudeville act and later attended Cornell University. He served in World War I and World War II in the US Navy. Career Adams' film career spanned more than three decades and included roles "on both sides of the law". He worked primarily in B-Westerns, often as a villain. According to ''The Guinness Book of Movie Records'', London is credited with appearing in the most films in the history of Hollywood, according to the 2001 book ''Film Facts'', which says that the performer who played in the most films was "Tom London, who made his first of over 2,000 appearances in '' The Great Train Robbery, 1903''.
