Beyond The Gates (Possessed Album)
''Beyond the Gates'' is the second album by death metal band Possessed. Taking a different direction from their debut, '' Seven Churches'', ''Beyond the Gates'' has a more technical feeling and, due to poor production, a muddy sound. Reception was mixed, with some critics and fans being very disappointed by the album for the sound and production, while others were satisfied with the new direction of the band. Over the years, fans have slowly appreciated ''Beyond the Gates'' and have even considered it being an "underrated masterpiece" and "overlooked classic". ''Beyond the Gates'' became a sign of Possessed's decline, as they only released the EP ''The Eyes of Horror'' before they officially disbanded the following year. This became the band’s last full length album, up until the release of their third studio album ''Revelations of Oblivion'', 33 years later. Burlington is a city in the Regional Municipality of Halton at the northwestern end of Lake Ontario in Ontario, Canada. John Cuniberti
John Cuniberti is an American recording engineer and producer. Career John Cuniberti was the drummer for The Rockets in the early 1970s, the original band for Eddie Money. He later managed Hyde Street Studios, where he was the recording engineer for the early albums of the punk group Dead Kennedys. He also remastered several of these albums for re-release later in his career. His first recording sessions with the band took place in a converted mom-and-pop grocery store. He was also the engineer for albums by other early punk acts, such as Victims Family and Flipper. Cuniberti co-produced Joe Satriani's debut album ''Not of This Earth'', and in 1987 he then co-produced Satriani's sophomore album ''Surfing with the Alien'', which was nominated for a Grammy Award and became a platinum-selling album. Reid Laurence "Larry" LaLonde (born September 12, 1968), also known as Ler LaLonde, is an American musician best known as the guitarist for Primus, a position that he has served since 1989, where he is known for his experimental accompaniment to the bass playing of bandmate Les Claypool. Previously, he played guitar for the groups Possessed, Blind Illusion, No Forcefield, and the Frank Zappa tribute band "Caca". He also has collaborated more recently with artists such as Serj Tankian and Tom Waits. Biography Early career LaLonde was born in Oakland, California. Gatefold
A gatefold cover or gatefold LP is a form of packaging for LP records that became popular in the mid-1960s. A gatefold cover, when folded, is the same size as a standard LP cover (i.e., a 12½ inch, or 32.7 centimetre square). The larger gatefold cover provided a means of including artwork, liner notes, and/or song lyrics, which would otherwise not have fit on a standard record cover. It became famous as an extension of progressive rock, as the expansive, transient gatefolds by artists such as Roger Dean, H. R. Giger, or Hipgnosis became associated with concept albums. ''Revelations of Oblivion'' is the third studio album by death metal band Possessed. It was released on May 10, 2019 via Nuclear Blast. The album entered the UK Rock & Metal Singles and Albums Charts at #7 and the Billboard Top Current Album Sales chart at #59 in its first week. It is the band's first full-length studio album in 33 years, preceded by 1986's '' Beyond the Gates''. The album was announced on March 16, 2019 alongside the promotional single "No More Room in Hell". Per Metalinsider's Metal By Numbers weekly column the album sold 200 units in its first week. The album marks the band's first full-length release for label Nuclear Blast, for which they signed in May 2017.
