Bexley Station (Queensland)
Bexley Station is a pastoral lease that operates as a sheep station in Queensland. The property is situated approximately north of Longreach and south of Muttaburra. Established at some time prior to 1890 by Edward Goddard Blume, the paddocks were burnt out the same year with the loss of most feed and some fencing. The property was stocked with sheep, producing 68 bales of wool in 1892 and 71 in 1893. Blume sold Bexley in 1939 to T. Scanlan. Blume sold the completely unstocked but retained the Yanburra portion of the property for himself. The area was flooded in 1950 and then a plague of snakes with 27 snakes being found in the homestead. In 1953 the property was owned by W. G. Allen and his wife and two sons. The property, owned by the McPherson family, was deluged during a storm in 2001 when a total of of rain fell during a single storm that lasted nearly 24 hours. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) is the national broadcaster of Australia. Snakes
Snakes are elongated, limbless, carnivorous reptiles of the suborder Serpentes . Like all other squamates, snakes are ectothermic, amniote vertebrates covered in overlapping scales. Many species of snakes have skulls with several more joints than their lizard ancestors, enabling them to swallow prey much larger than their heads (cranial kinesis). To accommodate their narrow bodies, snakes' paired organs (such as kidneys) appear one in front of the other instead of side by side, and most have only one functional lung. Some species retain a pelvic girdle with a pair of vestigial claws on either side of the cloaca. ''The Longreach Leader'' is a newspaper published in Longreach, Queensland, Australia. History The first issue was published on 5 January 1923. In early October 2021 the owners of the paper advised that production of the weekly paper would be suspended, after 98 years, due to financial losses primarily caused by shrinking advertising revenue. A wool bale is a standard sized and weighted pack of classed wool compressed by the mechanical means of a wool press. This is the regulation required method of packaging for wool, to keep it uncontaminated and readily identifiable. A "bale of wool" is also the standard trading unit for wool on the wholesale national and international markets. The minimum weight of a bale is . Jute packs were relatively heavy, weighing several kilograms each. In the 1960s polypropylene and high-density polyethylene packs were manufactured and used to make wool bales. Muttaburra is an outback town and locality in the Barcaldine Region, Queensland, Australia. Muttaburra was the discovery site of the ''Muttaburrasaurus'', one of Australia's most famous dinosaurs.
