Bexbach () is a town in the Saarpfalz district, in Saarland, Germany. It is situated on the river Blies, approximatively 6 km east of Neunkirchen, and 25 km northeast of Saarbrücken. The Saarländisches Bergbaumuseum (Saarland Mining Museum) is located in the town. Gerd Dudenhöffer
Gerd Dudenhöffer (born 13 October 1949 in Bexbach, Saarland) is a German cabaret artist and writer. Life Dudenhöffer studied graphic and design in Munich. Since 1977, he works in Germany as a cabaret artist. His most famous role is ''Heinz Becker''. Dudenhöffer is married and has two children. Dudenhöffer's character "Heinz Becker" Heinz Becker is an elderly catholic-conservative working-class man. He lives with his wife and son in a small rural town, a place where each knows everyone else and people often have family ties between them (the model obviously is Dudenhöffer's home town of Bexbach). Becker has poor formal education, speaks the local dialect and often hesitates to find the right words. Technical or sophisticated terms he normally misuses. Saarpfalz
Saarpfalz (''Saar-Palatinate'') is a Kreis (district) in the south-east of the Saarland, Germany. Neighboring districts are (from west clockwise) Saarbrücken, Neunkirchen, Kusel, Kaiserslautern, Südwestpfalz, district-free Zweibrücken, and the French ''département'' Moselle. History After the Treaty of Versailles, the Saar basin was placed under the administration of the League of Nations for 15 years. The Palatinate area, then part of Bavaria, was therefore split in two parts. The part which went into the Saar became commonly known as Saarpfalz, and was administrated by the two ''Bezirksamt'' St. Ingbert and Homburg. Blies
The Blies () is a right tributary of the Saar in southwestern Germany (Saarland) and northeastern France (Moselle). The Blies flows from three springs in the Hunsrück near Selbach, Germany. It is roughly 100 km long, ending in the French city of Sarreguemines. It flows through Sankt Wendel, Ottweiler, Neunkirchen, Bexbach, Homburg and Blieskastel (Blieskastel being named after the river). Its lower extent demarcates part of the Franco–German border.
