Beverly Malone
Beverly Louise Malone (born 1948) is the chief executive officer of the National League for Nursing in the United States. Prior to assuming this position in February 2007 she served as general secretary of the Royal College of Nursing in the United Kingdom for six years. Early life Malone is the eldest of seven siblings. Her mother worked as a tax auditor for the Internal Revenue Service and her father was a train engineer. She was raised in Elizabethtown, in rural Kentucky, in the segregated deep south of the United States by her great grandmother. University education and nursing/academic career (1970–1996) Malone obtained a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Cincinnati in 1970. The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) is a registered trade union in the United Kingdom for those in the profession of nursing. It was founded in 1916, receiving its royal charter in 1928. Queen Elizabeth II was the patron until her death in 2022. The majority of members are registered nurses; however student nurses and healthcare assistants are also members. There is also a category of membership, at a reduced cost, for retired people. The World Health Assembly (WHA) is the forum through which the World Health Organization (WHO) is governed by its 194 member states. It is the world's highest health policy setting body and is composed of health ministers from member states.
