Beverly Huke

	Beverly Huke Beverly Joan Mary Huke (born 19 May 1951) is an English professional golfer. She was a founding member of the Women's Professional Golfers' Association (WPGA) and won 7 tournaments on the Ladies European Tour (LET) between 1979 and 1986. Career Huke advanced to the final of the 1971 British Ladies Amateur where Mickey Walker won 3 and 1. She represented Great Britain & Ireland at the Vagliano Trophy in 1971 and 1975, and at the Curtis Cup in 1972. She won the English Women's Amateur Championship in 1975 at Royal Birkdale. After turning professional, Huke won seven tournaments in eight seasons on the LET in Scotland, England, Spain, Germany and Northern Ireland. She was also runner-up by one stroke twice. In 2017, ahead of the 40 year anniversary of the WPGA, Huke was made Honorary Member of the PGA in recognition of her role as a pioneer of women's professional golf. 	Ladies European Tour The Ladies European Tour is a professional golf tour for women which was founded in 1978. It is based at Buckinghamshire Golf Club near London in England. Like many UK-based sports organisations it is a company limited by guarantee, a legal structure which enables it to focus on maximising returns to its members through prize money, rather than on making profits for investors. The tour is run by a Board of Directors and a Players' Council. Most of the players on the tour are European, with members from more than 40 countries internationally. The tour operates tournaments across five continents. History The U.S.-based LPGA was founded in 1950, but women's professional golf was slower to get established in Europe. 	Peggy Conley Peggy Conley (born 1947) is a retired American professional golfer. Career At just 16, Conley played her way into the championship match of the 1963 U.S. Women's Amateur and lost 2 and 1 to Seattle's Anne Quast. In 1964, she won the U.S. Girls' Junior title after losing the final match the year before, beating Laura MacIvor, 6 and 5. In 1966, she captured the Women's Western Amateur. Conley became the first woman to receive a University of Washington golf scholarship. At 29, she qualified for the LPGA Tour, where she recorded top-10 finishes at the 1978 U.S. Women's Open and the 1979 LPGA Championship. Losing her card after six seasons, she turned to the Ladies European Tour (LET), where she played another half-dozen seasons. 	Kitrina Douglas Kitrina Douglas (born 6 September 1960) is an English ex- professional golfer who played on the Ladies European Tour. Douglas won the British Ladies Amateur in 1982 and played in the 1982 Great Britain & Ireland Curtis Cup team. She played professionally on the Ladies European Tour, where she won eight times and was a member of the 1992 European Solheim Cup team. 	1984 Ladies European Tour The 1984 Ladies European Tour was the fifth season of golf tournaments administered by the Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) on behalf of the Women's Professional Golfers' Association (WPGA), which later became the Ladies European Tour (LET). In the second season of PGA administration, the tour saw the addition of several new tournaments with the format of most being changed to 72-holes stroke play, having been mostly 54 and 36-hole events previously. In total, there were 21 tournaments on the schedule, including the return of the Women's British Open, organised by the Ladies' Golf Union and one of two tournaments co-sanctioned by the LPGA Tour, along with the Ladies Irish Open. The Order of Merit was won by Dale Reid, who dominated the season with two tournament victories and five runner-up finishes.
