Beuningen, Overijssel
Beuningen () is a village in the eastern Netherlands. It is located in the municipality of Losser, Overijssel and situated along the river Dinkel, in a mainly rural area, approximately one kilometre south of Denekamp. History The village was first mentioned in the late-10th century as "in Baningi", and means "settlement of the people of Bono (person)". Beuningen started as a collection of farms south of Denekamp. It started to develop after World War II. The estate Borgbeuningen was built in 1709 on the former site of a medieval castle. The estate is surrounded by a large park whose lanes are aligned with the church towers of the region. In the centre of the forest, there is a rectangular and crucifix-shaped pond. Beuningen was home to 699 people in 1840. Beuningen used to be part of the parish Denekamp, in 1818 the ''boermarke'' (predecessor of municipality) Beuningen became part of the municipality of Losser. Overijssel
Overijssel (, ; nds, Oaveriessel ; german: Oberyssel) is a Provinces of the Netherlands, province of the Netherlands located in the eastern part of the country. The province's name translates to "across the IJssel", from the perspective of the Bishopric of Utrecht, Episcopal principality of Utrecht by which it was held until 1528. The capital city of Overijssel is Zwolle (pop. 127,497) and the largest city is Enschede (pop. 158,986). The province had a population of 1,162,215 as of November 2019. The land mostly consists of grasslands and some forests (including Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park); it also borders a small part of the IJsselmeer to the west. Losser () is a municipality and a town in the eastern Netherlands. It is at the eastern end of the A1 motorway. Postal codes in the Netherlands, known as ''postcodes'', are alphanumeric, consisting of four digits followed by two uppercase letters. The letters 'F', 'I', 'O', 'Q', 'U' and 'Y' were originally not used for technical reasons, but almost all existing combinations are now used as these letters were allowed for new locations starting 2005. Telephone numbers in the Netherlands are administered by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation of the Netherlands and may be grouped into three general categories: geographical numbers, non-geographical numbers, and numbers for public services. Dinkel
The Dinkel is a river in Germany and the Netherlands, left tributary of the Vecht. Its total length is , of which in Germany. The Dinkel originates in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, between Ahaus and Coesfeld. It flows north to Gronau, crosses the border with the Netherlands (Overijssel), flows through Losser, Denekamp, and recrosses the border to Germany (Lower Saxony). The Dinkel joins the Vechte in Neuenhaus. Jacob van Ruisdael depicted the landscape of the Dinkel and its watermills near Denekamp in his work Two Watermills and an Open Sluice near Singraven. These watermills still exist. In the Netherlands the river gave name to the village of Overdinkel and to the municipality of Dinkelland. Denekamp
Denekamp () is a town in the Dutch province of Overijssel. It is a part of the region of Twente and the municipality of Dinkelland, and lies about 9 km northeast of Oldenzaal. The town was first noted as early as the 10th century when it was referred to as Daginghem, and means "settlement of the people of Dago or Dano". The village started around the church which was built in 1275. It remained isolated and small until 1829 when the road from Deventer to Hamburg was built. The location became a municipality in 1818 incorporating the settlements of Noord Deurningen, Lattrop, Breklenkamp, Tilligte, Nutter and Agelo. The municipality merged with Ootmarsum and Weerselo in 2001; the new municipality was first called "Denekamp", but was renamed in 2002 to Dinkelland.
