Betzenhausen
Betzenhausen is a quarter in the west of Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. It consists of the statistical districts Alt-Betzenhausen and Betzenhausen-Bischofslinde. Neighbouring districts are Mooswald to the north, Stühlinger to the east, Weingarten to the south and Lehen to the west. History Betzenhausen was first mentioned in a certificate by Otto I directed at Einsiedeln Abbey in 972. The small village belonged to the city of Freiburg for more than 400 years from 1381, before it became a sovereign community in 1807. Soon it was time for change again, the community wanting to rejoin the city of Freiburg at the end of the 19th century, due to their poor financial state at the time. They proposed a series of requests towards the city, as conditions for the proposed new rejoinment. Seepark Betzenhausen
The Seepark is a park in the district :de:Betzenhausen, Betzenhausen of Freiburg im Breisgau which was constructed for the :de:Landesgartenschau, Landesgartenschau in 1986. It is a local recreation area, covering 35 hectares, and contains the :de:Flückigersee, Flückigersee, an artificial lake which takes up about 10 hectares. In the northeastern part of the park is the 15-meter tall :de:Seeparkturm, Seepark Tower. The area now taken up by the Seepark used to be used for agriculture. However, the soil was not well-suited for growing good grain. In the 1920s, the company Flückiger started removing sand and gravel from the grounds. In the 1970s, Flückiger's operation ended, in order for the area to be used as a parking lot. In 1986, the successful application to hold the Landesgartenschau in Freiburg led to the redesign of the grounds, leaving the park in its current form. The Landesgartenschau had roughly two million visitors.

Mooswald (Freiburg Im Breisgau)
Mooswald is a district in the western part of Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, which consists of the two districts Mooswald West (521) and Mooswald East (522). Its population is 9,223 (2020). In the North East, Mooswald borders the district of Brühl, with its airfield, the university campus of the technical faculty and the exhibition centre. Mooswald further borders the district of Landwasser in the North West, the district of Stühlinger in the East and the district of Betzenhausen with the Seepark in the South West. Mooswald is separated from Brühl by the Breisgau S-Bahn, from Landwasser by the Westrandstraße (Paduaallee/Mooswaldallee) and from Stühlinger by the railway tracks of the freight railway.
