Betty Pei Ti
Betty Pei Ti (; born 10 November 1951) is a Taiwanese actress. Though born in Taiwan, she is best known for her roles in Hong Kong films, particularly of the Shaw Brothers Studio. Early life Pei was born Han Pai-chou (韩白绸) in Yilan City, Taiwan. Career In 1971, while touring Hong Kong with a Chinese arts troupe, Pei came to the attention of director Chor Yuen. He asked her to star opposite Lily Ho in ''Intimate Confessions of a Chinese Courtesan'', the Shaw Brothers' first gay (lesbian) film, released in 1972.Lisa Odham Strokes, "Ho, Lily," in ''Historical Dictionary of Hong Kong Cinema'' (Scarecrow Press, 2007) Betty Pei Ti's performance endeared her to the studio, and she was persuaded to stay in Hong Kong and make movies. Shaw Brothers Studio
Shaw Brothers (HK) Ltd. () was the largest film production company in Hong Kong, and operated from 1925 to 2011. In 1925, three Shaw brothers— Runje, Runme, and Runde—founded Tianyi Film Company (also called "Unique") in Shanghai, and established a film distribution base in Singapore, where Runme and their youngest brother, Run Run Shaw, managed the precursor to the parent company, Shaw Organisation. Yilan City (Mandarin pinyin: ''Yílán Shì''; Hokkien POJ: ''Gî-lân-chhī'') is a county-administered city and the county seat of Yilan County, Taiwan Province, Republic of China. Lily Ho () is a Chinese actress from Hong Kong. Ho is known for playing leading heroines in Shaw Brothers films. Ho is known for the 1966 The Knight Of Knights and her role as Ainu, a lesbian, in Intimate Confessions of a Chinese Courtesan, a 1972 Adult Martial Arts film. ''Intimate Confessions Of A Chinese Courtesan'' () is a 1972 Hong Kong film directed by Chor Yuen and starring Lily Ho. Plot As a Shaw Brothers classics, sweet young Ai Nu is abducted and sold to the popular Four Seasons brothel run by lusty madam Chun Yi. AiNu's fiery attitude gets her locked away in a dungeon. In one scene, after whipping a defiant AiNu, lesbian Madam Chun proceeds to lick the open wounds on the girl's back.
