Betty Acquah
Betty Acquah (born 20 March 1965) is a Ghanaian feminist painter. She uses the techniques of pointillism, oil painting and acrylic. Early life and education A native of Cape Coast in Ghana, she spent part of her schooling at Wesley Girls' Senior High School and Holy Child School. Then furthered at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology where she obtained a master's degree in Visual Arts specializing in painting. Pointillism
Pointillism (, ) is a technique of painting in which small, distinct dots of color are applied in patterns to form an image. Georges Seurat and Paul Signac developed the technique in 1886, branching from Impressionism. The term "Pointillism" was coined by art critics in the late 1880s to ridicule the works of these artists, but is now used without its earlier pejorative connotation. The movement Seurat began with this technique is known as Neo-impressionism. The Divisionism, Divisionists used a similar technique of patterns to form images, though with larger cube-like brushstrokes. Technique The technique relies on the ability of the eye and mind of the viewer to blend the color spots into a fuller range of tones. It is related to Divisionism, a more technical variant of the method. Cape Coast
Cape Coast is a city, fishing port, and the capital of Cape Coast Metropolitan District and Central Region of Ghana. Holy Child High School, Ghana
Holy Child School, also known as Angel's Hill, is an all girls boarding second-cycle institution in Cape Coast in the Central Region of Ghana.
